Why do I feel like I've seen this reaction before.... 😉

Matt Cavic

Ohh, and I was counting down the minutes until Gambit.

Kat: "If I dont see a dead body..." means youve been watching too much Marvel.

Bruce Bromley

Whoa, deja Vu! 😁 Honestly once the series is done, and you sampled the TNG movies, there is still season three of Picard. It looking like a 25 year class reunion.🙂

Well, since Data was torturing Geordi just a few weeks prior or so, I'd say he owed him big time. Wonder if that factored into his desicionmaking at all for helping him, since it wasn't based on logic or protocol.

What about the morality of the alien pretending to be his missing mother, acting upon his grief? Would The Enterprise have refused to help them if they had told the truth from the beginning?

Mark Chrisco

A bit of a "Roots" reunion. LeVar Burton played the young Kunta Kinte in that classic 1977 mini series. Madge Sinclair portrayed, Bell, the wife of Kunta, later played by John Amos and Ben Vereen portrayed "Chicken" George, a grandchild of Kunta Kinte.

Chris Lane

And the lesson of the episode is...um...well...um.... Anyway, this could be an idea for using something like VR to work through grief or emotional damage. I've heard that soldiers with PTSD about specific incidents have used that before, so that's interesting.

It’s nice when the writers portray Data with the moral and ethical complexity he deserves. The Most Toys from Season 3 is my favorite example of this. Clues from Season 4 is an example when they did the opposite and portrayed Data as a mindless follower of orders just for the plot convenience.
