In series 4 RTD planned to show that Davros was disfigured during an air raid, but it was cut because it made the episode to long. I guess this short is his way of telling us this is still canon. after all, nothing in "genesis of the Daleks" suggest that Davros's condition wasn't a relatively new development.

Well, similarly, there was a shift when the series returned in 2005. Time gets rewritten all over the place and it is not necessarily centralized around actions carried out by The Doctor. There was some major interference caused by The Master-Doctor. Some of which may have resulted in a slightly different Skaro timeline in which the Kaled/Thal wars took a different turn, therefore minor incidents such as the disfigurement of Davros didn't happen. one has to remember that Doctor Who being a creative artform with infinite choice at it's hearts can keep going and falters more when adherence takes over. Total adherence makes for effete sausages. impotent and uninteresting.

As to "retcon-ing" the Daleks... We've seen like at least five origins of the Cybermen at this point. I like Davros up and about. Based on his posture it's obvious that something's going on so who knows?! Bring it RTD!

I'm surprised everyone is freaking out about Davros. Like, yes, at this earlier point he wasn't in a wheelchair... he wasn't in one when he was a kid either, so what's the big deal?

Kat, I'm ammused that in the moment you're refussing Paula's comment that it "doesn't look that bad" you happen to lean to the side and demonstrate how you and your collar are complimenting each other so hard, 😎 which has nothing to do with the camera but in that instance it undermined your (sincere) complaint about the camera,

RTD has spoke about Davros not being in a wheelchair anymore, is now cannon and he said the world is more sensitive now and a wheelchair user can not be seen as evil anymore those words came out his own mouth, I was disgusted as I'm in a wheelchair and seeing Davros in a wheelchair dosen't make me feel evil.
