Hi everyone! First of all, I hope you’re all enjoying the holiday season and having a wonderful time with your loved ones 🎄

I’m excited to announce that the new version of JAM is finally out! I know I initially planned to release it by Christmas, and today is December 27th… so a few extra days slipped by. I really appreciate your patience! There were a couple of last-minute issues that required fixes, and with the holiday period, finding the time was a bit challenging 😅

This release brings a major rewrite of the bookmarks management system (now renamed to the simpler "Library"). You can now:

Add metadata to your manga for easier tracking and organization (automatically fetching them from the mangaupdates.com API!).

Skip checks for already completed manga while still keeping them in your library, nicely ordered and clearly recognizable.

Add custom language filter strings for each individual manga! Previously, you had to use a single filter string for all downloads, but now you can personalize them for each manga, allowing you to be more specific and download only what you really need.

Check for and download all new chapters in one click! In the past, these two operations were separate, and especially with very large manga lists, it could be really tedious to wait for the check to finish before manually starting the download of any new chapters found. Using complex custom functions wasn’t always easy for everyone. Now, with a single click, you can perform both the check and download of any new chapters found, making it simple and accessible for everyone.

See your entire chapter list for each manga directly in the library view. Previously, only new chapters were displayed, but now you can always access all chapters discovered by the program, with clear icons indicating whether they are new, already downloaded, or not yet downloaded. This allows you to keep everything under control directly from the library, without needing to open each manga individually just to check the chapter list.

Manage your manga collection in a more simple, clean, and intuitive way than ever before.

Despite extensive testing on my side, I obviously can’t account for every possible scenario, so there will likely be some bugs or unexpected behavior once more people start using the program. Please don’t worry! I’ve already planned to dedicate all the holidays until end of January to addressing any new issues that arise. You can expect frequent public updates over the next few days.

I also want to ask you for a huge favor: if you encounter any problem at all, don’t hesitate to report it. Seriously, no worries if your report ends up being redundant or a false alarm, it’s always better to have a duplicate report than none at all. Your feedback will help me fix issues quickly and make the program even better.
