Mangaplaza Plugin Overhaul & Critical Fixes (Patreon)

Hi everyone,

I’ve just released a new update for the Mangaplaza plugin for the JAM Alpha version. A massive thank you to the Patreon supporter who took the time to report these issues, your feedback is exactly what helps this plugin grow!

Here is a breakdown of what has changed in this version:

🔧 Chapter URL Recognition Fix

Previously, the plugin relied on button colors (orange for free chapters, blue for premium ones) to recognize and extract chapter URLs. Thanks to a report, I discovered that some manga on the platform use entirely different button layouts. For this reason I have completely rewritten this logic. The method used to fetch the chapter ID is now much more generic and it should work reliably regardless of the button colors used on the page.

🍪 Cookie & 18+ Pop-up Bypass

The script now automatically sets two specific cookies needed to bypass the site's cookie consent and 18+ content warning pop-ups. Previously, these pop-ups required manual user interaction and would break the page acquisition process by blocking the scrolling mechanism.

🔄 Complete Redesign of the Page Scrolling System

Thanks again to the same user, I learned that certain content on the site does not offer the standard double-page spread, forcing a vertical scrolling view instead. To solve this, I had to redesign how the plugin acquires pages from scratch.

The script now utilizes the content's native scroll slider to navigate through the chapter. This guarantees 100% compatibility across all types of content on the platform but...

⚠️ Important Drawbacks & Critical Warnings

While the new scrolling method ensures full compatibility, it introduces two side effects that you need to be aware of:

Slower Acquisition Time: Because we can no longer load pages two at a time, the plugin is back to loading them page-by-page. Unfortunately, this means the scrolling duration has doubled.

Tip: Remember that you can adjust the wait times based on your network speed by changing the delay parameter in the Extras menu. I have found great success setting this to 500 milliseconds, so I highly recommend giving that value a try!

CRITICAL: Do Not Interrupt the Acquisition! It is now more important than ever that you DO NOT click anywhere while the script is acquiring pages. If the slider loses focus for any reason, one of two critical failures will occur:

The script will keep pressing the "Left" arrow key infinitely because the unfocused slider won't move to confirm it has reached the end.

Worse, it might falsely detect the slider as "finished" and stop the acquisition prematurely. The script will not throw an error (since it successfully downloaded what it thought was the whole chapter), leaving you with a silently incomplete download.

To reiterate one last time: Please do not click on anything or interact with the window while the script is moving the slider, or the entire acquisition process will completely break!
