Hi guys, first of all I apologize for the lack of updates about the project in the last month, I have spent all this time changing (essentially rewriting from scratch 😅) the function to check for available chapters for manga, in order to adapt it to the new bookmarks management system that, as I think you all know by now, I am currently developing exclusively for Patreon supporters.

And so, here is a video of how it is now possible to obtain the list of new chapters available for each manga in the bookmarks list 😎

Obviously the feature will be available in the new nightly build I will release tonight (I need to fix some things in the code before to upload it) 😉

Next steps are the implementation of a function to add the new chapters to the downloads queue and of course a function to add the new chapters in the database so that they no longer come out at the next check (yes, I know, these are basilar things but the rewrite of the function to check for new chapters took me longer than expected due to the many websites supported by the program, sorry 😅).

Also, today I plan to release a new public version of the program (to fix all the various bugs of the last few months) which, however, will not yet include this new bookamarks management system which will remain, until its full completion, exclusive of the nightly builds.

Stay tuned!

that is not basilar... that is the last step. 🤣 i mean: it is indeed the main function... but also the main function only starts when everything else is in place. That is just basic coding and/or project managament. 😅 rewriting everything in the middle of it is... far feom optimal but yeah... quite standard in the field of "i have no clue yet what i will need, nor i can know because things change on a week to week basis." 😅

The issue was that until now the program was meant to be simply a downloader, based on "insert page link -> load chapters list from site -> select what to download -> download", very simple and basilar concept 😅 All this bookmars management thing is something that has been added only later, following the many requests of the final users, so now to implement it I have to go back and rewrite the old functions to support a "detachment" from the old environment so that I can reuse them for other functions. And yes, I could have develop everything better from the start so that this basic functions could be reused elsewhere, but as said above the concept behind Manga Downloader at first was much more basic than what it's becoming now, I wouldn't have even imagined it would be so successful between users xD

next up (obviously) "why can't it download from my feed? all you need is to log in with my account!"
