It's time for a new changelog post ✍

ℹ As usual I remember to Premium members (or higher) that you can find here on Patreon the nightly builds posts where you'll can download the nightly versions which will already include the new features/bugfixes listed below 👍

Nightly build (2022-09-30):

  * Added support for agcscanlation.it

  * Added support for coffeemanga.com

  * Added support for coloredmanga.com

  * Fixed and improved the support for shingekinoshoujo.to

  * Added a new check for the name of the pages to make sure that it correctly contains the progressive number and therefore avoid errors or overwriting cases when the file name is truncated because it is too long.

  * Fixed a bug with the delay option for chapters download

  * Fixed a bug that gave an error creating output files when the cutted manga title ended with a space

  * Migrated from xsPDF to Apache PDFBox library for a better PDF documents management (this should fix many errors and incompatibilities with images formats)

  * Added a new function to delete the no more used libraries at startup to save disk space.

  * Started works on improving the bookmarks experience:

 Added a new sub-menu to the "Check all..." function: this will allow the users to select different ways to check the bookmarks for new chapters that will involve all the manga, only manga without a previous check or only manga already checked but with no new chapter found.

Added a new button to apply a custom parsing procedure to the manga list: it still does not work for now, but in future it will allow the user to "create" a custom parsing function for his bookmarks (he will can choose what to do with manga in any status, if checked or not, if new chapters found or not, etc...)

Added a settings dialog to setup the custom parsing procedure

Added a context menu to the bookmarks list (right-click on the list to show it)

Now the user can select and run check/download function only to selected manga thanks to the context menu

Added a function in the new context menu to enable/disable the concatenation flag for all the selected manga

Now while checking for new chapters the program will disable the list sorting by clicking on the columns headers to avoid a bug that brought to use the wrong selected manga

Now the program will show again the number of new chapters found for each manga when you exit and come back to the favorites window. This way it will be easier for the user to identify manga with new chapters especially with very large bookmarks lists

Added a new confirmation message when the user try to check again the bookmarks for new chapters, in order to prevent unwanted overwritings of the new chapters already found in previous checks. The confirmation message will appear ONLY if there was a previous check for a manga in the bookmarks.

Nightly build (2022-12-01):

  * Added support for the new domain of mangaworld.so

  * Fixed support for comic.pixiv.net

  * The support for Mangapark.net has beed rewritten from scratch: now it uses their Graph API to get a complete list of their chapters data and it should therefore better withstand future updates (hopefully). For this reason now the program supports only the v5x of the website, I don't know if there are manga which are not available in the latest version of the website, if so please let me know and I'll try to restore the support for the old v3x.

  * Fixed a couple of bugs in the new features introduced in the previous nightly build.Note: I am sorry that I was unable to complete in this nightly build the new features of the bookmarks section that I had introduced in the previous one, unfortunately it is giving me more headaches than expected and it needs more test and fixes and so requires more work before a safe version can be released (and since it works with bookmarks it's better not to risk losing everything for a bug xD). However, I will try to complete everything by Christmas in order to finally release a new public version for everyone as a Christmas present 🎅🏻

Nightly build (2022-12-05):

  * Added support for scyllascans.org as requested by a Patron

  * Added support for mangareader.to: please note that some random manga are stored in a shuffled way on their server ( https://c-1.mreadercdn.com/_v2/1/0dcb8f9eaacfd940603bd75c7c152919c72e45517dcfb1087df215e3be94206cfdf45f64815888ea0749af4c0ae5636fabea0abab8c2e938ab3ad7367e9bfa52/60/5c/605c965566daf97621edaa20b4cd9f5c/605c965566daf97621edaa20b4cd9f5c_1200.jpeg?t=515363393022bbd440b0b7d9918f291a&ttl=1908547557 ), until we can find out the function they use to recreate the images in the meantime you can still download the manga that are not stored that way.

  * Added support MangaKatana.com

  * Added a new option in the Extra menu for MangaPlus which will allow the user to disable the two pages splitting request from their API: this should solve the issue reported at https://bitbucket.org/Red_Squirrel/manga-downloader/issues/751/double-pages-downloaded-as-low-quality

  * Improved the function to guess MIME types of the downloaded images, now it recognizes also the Lavc header for JPEG format.

  * Now if the content type header of the web request results in the "application/octet-stream" MIME type then the program will automatically use the above function to try to acquire the correct format for the downloaded image.

  * Added the two sub-functions of the "Check for new chapters" button: now the user can check for new chapters also only for manga with no new chapters found or only for manga with no previous checks done.With this now only the custom parsing function is missing (still wip).

Nightly build (2022-12-30):

  * Added support for mreader.co

  * Added a new output format exclusively for Patreon supporters: now the user can save any downloaded chapter as EPUB book! The program will create all the necessary parts (cover, table of contents, etc...) to create a 100% valid file with the EPUB v3 standard.

  * The features exclusive for Patreon users will now have a different color/background in the program's settings window for better and faster identification.

  * Added a Christmas themed logo and loading screen (they will replace the default ones in the last 10 days of each year).

  * Finally completed the implementation of the custom parse function for bookmarks! Now even the last piece  of the project for improving the bookmarks experience has been placed.

Please note: this was supposed to be a public release for everyone, unfortunately the programming process took me longer than expected and therefore I was not able to test everything well and thoroughly. Since from tomorrow until January 7th I will be physically away from my PC, I decided to release this still as a nightly build because if it had unkown major/breaking bugs I would not be able to fix them until after January 7th, leaving the program broken until then. And I don't think this was the best course of action. Anyway this is just a time delay, if there are no major bugs then this version will be the one that will be released as new public version as soon as I get back home ;)

Happy New Year and thank you for your support!

Nightly build (2023-01-26):

  * Totally rewritten support for ReaperScans: now the program supports their new website at 100%.

  * Fixed the support for Toonily

  * Fixed a major bug with the regex patterns for custom replacing rules that did not work in previous versions (as reported here)

  * Fixed a bug with the manga name (folder name) that did not use the custom name set in the bookmarks by the user even if the corresponding option in program's settings was enable (as reported by a patron)

  * Fixed a bug with the notification of a new nightly build available

  * Added the missing strings for the Italian translation

Note: This version is simply the public version that I will release this weekend or sooner, as soon as I finish writing the changelog for the official site (so you can continue to use this nightly without going back to the public release this weekend, the only thing missing will be the changelog xD). Sorry for the delay but people who follow me on Twitter should know that I had many problems with another my project (the PSVita custom theme repository) and had to spend quite a bit of time on that these days.
