Because Lucy is a cyborg, and Lucoa is a dragon. They can be considered Halloween like characters. I would have thought it would be obvious, but apparently not.

With the exception of a few characters (mostly because I don't know them) they all seem to be Halloween themed. So just because you don't personally agree doesn't make the voters stupid... it makes you look stupid though.

There are a few that are clearly halloween themed (stuff that came out of nowhere, gargoyles for example) but almost all are not (the latter polls have konosuba, dragon maid, yugioh, League of Legends, touhou, etc.). If anything it's a regular waifu wars with a sprinkle of some unknown Halloween characters that people aren't voting for.

That's your opinion. There aren't any checklists that exist in the world whose requirements have to be met for something to be considered a Halloween costume. You just keep moving the goal posts on what is and isn't acceptable based on personal views or just because you personally disagree with the options that are available. You can dress up as anything you want for Halloween, and have it be a Halloween costume even anime characters.

You haven't changed my opinion on this. If you wear a costume of the characters mentioned for Halloween, they're Halloween costumes (just also cosplay). Just because they don't meet your personal standard on what makes them Halloween themed, it doesn't make them not Halloween themed.

You're the one moving goalposts since it doesn't conform to your modern sensibilities. Cyborgs and dragon being considered as Halloween by the choices above is not traditionally Halloween and you know damn well these wouldnt be considered as such just 30 years ago. If "anything" can be Halloween, that defeats the point of what a "Halloween" themed is supposed to be. You might as well just have a normal poll choice. I'm kind of surprised you dont see this gap in your logic

yeah Lucy is STOMPING the compatition yeah tfw a Scifi themed character beats the actual spooky characters thanks to extreme Relevence (although 4 of them aren't exactly spooky 2 regular humans who are in a spooky setting normally and 2 goddesses)

I remember I was one of the people to actually suggest theme polls so we could get a break from seasonal anime and girls that already have 20 good cards always winning and Evaan liked the idea, only to not actually enforce the rules. Pretty annoying. No wildcard winners lately actually makes it more annoying.

Personally I voted for Lucy just because I didn’t want Lucoa to win, I would have prefered other chars (that I voted too) but it was clear they weren’t going to win. Poor Seras will have been perfect for the theme for example. We’ll see next time…
