So, I woke up to a lovely cloudy morning, a respite from the blazing heat, made my coffee and through the windows, admired the rain nourishing the parched land. After 3 weeks of drought, I can take a day off from the hour-long daily chore of watering my garden and shrubs. In a good mood, I prepare my triple-blend of cereals, mix in bananas, blueberries, and fresh-cut strawberries, then top it off with homemade honey granola. This is gonna taste great! I open a NEW container of milk and pour gloppy, sour, curdled bird-shit all over it... As my serenity evaporates, I acquire an epiphany to the question philosophers have been debating for millennia: Do you add the milk before or after the cereal. Before... The only correct answer is before.
This was another week where I dedicated 4 hours every day to the game, but when it's time for this update... wonder what can I actually show? No new art, but I did get the bones of pregnancy working. Oh, and I added a basement Nursery the player can upgrade, similar to Mary and Cecilia's rooms, sold at the merchant. I had to make everything separate, since pregnancy can happen before or after the women join your team. The Nursery allows you to place objects where you want, and feed/clean your baby after it's born. The baby will also follow you if you want. The baby stays for about 600 days, but uses the same pregnancy-speed-timer, so at max-speed it will 'grow-up' and disappear after 20 days. (I could add in toddler and child stages as well, but this kinda feels out of scope for the game) I'm also including the option to disable babies in the settings, or you can adopt it out, or just... ignore it... if you're psycho. Here's an image:
Since the code is mostly done, I'll be finishing the pregnancy art next week, and further testing the new conditions I added, to try and catch any bugs. Next weekend, I need to basically be done, so I can get the game updated on Steam by month-end.
