Hey folks! Sorry this is so late: I got super caught up in the Shapiro video last week and kinda lost track of a lot of other stuff. Anyway! Pick a song!

Charles Gaskell

Finally made it! I don't know ANY of the songs... 😉

Justice Eats Trees

Hey, when/where do we get to suggest songs, because my favorite autumn song is a cyclic mess of key changes that I'd love to hear an analysis of!

Justice Eats Trees

(that song being "Emily" by Joanna Newsom, in case this is the time/place and anyone else is interested in THAT)

Lamadesbois

I guess “Emily” might be a little too long/prog to review. If 12tone chooses to analyze it, I would be delighted, though, it is such a poignant song.

Jaap Milikan

Tbh I don't know if this selection is very interesting because Rick beato has already done videos on half of them. Of course I'm interested in your take on it as well but I don't know what you'd have to add... So I'm kind of interested too in seeing how you two would make different videos in the exact same song.

12tonevideos

Eh, Rick's done videos on way too many songs to be worth trying to avoid. I think his style of analysis is different enough from mine that I'm not super worried about any thematic overlap.

Eric Penner

I would also like a song suggestion box if you have one. I also wanna see "Emily" but Mostly cause I want you to break down "whipping post" by the alman brothers.

Trevor Sullivan

You almost certainly do. Maybe you need someone to wake you up inside?

Tyler Owens

Some day Bring Me to Life will win. It always seems to do well early in the voting only to fall behind as more people vote. But I hold out hope that it will have its time some day.

DSM

*silently chooses every song because they’re all structurally fascinating*

Justice Eats Trees

Pllease do check it out! It's a really cool song, and one of my favorite arrangements of a song ever recorded (any song that can have big, ominous clouds of strings AND a jaw harp and banjo section is a winner in my book)- it is definitely a pretty long song, but I think it would be cool to hear you break it down! Or Really Any Joanna Newsom Song- Justice McButButThatWouldBeMyTopPick

Brian Miller

I'm new here but how about a Kate Bush song? I'd love to hear your thoughts on some of the background harmonies provided by Trio Bulgarka on three of the songs on "The Sensual World" the one big note near the end of "This Woman's Work"
