I must admit, there's rarely any songs in these polls that I have any connection to or interest in. I realise that may be not be the world's most useful feedback.

Lamadesbois

Hello Elias, do you have specific genres that you like? Maybe there is common ground between what you like and what we, other patrons and Cory do.

I think it would be very interesting to see more on electronic music genres. Differences in song structure due to DJs playing continuous mixes, rhythm influences from earlier styles, the back and forth influence with the hip hop genre tree. An early example would be Kraftwerk, but there are a million directions to go and a lot of innovative sounds and compositional approaches.

You and me both. Of course, my "pop" is limited to The Beatles, "rock" is pretty much Pink Floyd, and I have no clue what's current. I always feel that I'm in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the western spiral arm of the galaxy when it comes to mainstream music. Sure, I'd love to see an analysis of Arvo Pärt or Alfred Schnittke. But I realize that Kansas' "Dust in the Wind" is far more likely.

@elias Even for songs I don't or barely know I still learn things and gain an appreciation for the composition. Polyphonic's recent 'Run The Jewels' spotlight has me seriously considering buying a rap album, which is way out of my wheelhouse.

Jason Peterson

I think an interesting spin on the analysis of some of the pop songs would be theory that can touch on what components of popular music make some songs so darn catchy. "Uptown Funk" is undeniably catchy, either in a good way or bad, depending on your tastes.

Bunbuku Chagama

I know you tend to analyze anglophone music (after all, the channel's language is English) but I'd really love to see someone talk about Japanese singer-songwriter Sheena Ringo, especially the song Shuukyou, the opening track to her 2003 masterpiece Kalk Samen Chestnut Flower. It's probably difficult to find a transcription for something that dense, however

William Bale

Not to be negative but I'm going with 'none of the above'. One song I was hoping would be analysed was 'Smooth' by Santana.

Favrion The Man

@12tone Is it possible that you can consider Touch Me by The Doors?
