Here are the ideas I liked most from all the ones you guys sent me in the first phase of the August Contest. The most voted idea goes into production.

Well this was a spread out poll that does a very interesting job playing around with standard setups. The subversion you might call these choices. Alternative universes, movies, video games, a subverted noncon, and a threesome made this really unpredictable. None of last months picks returned (although a classic came back). No lesbian pairings at all. In the top two vote getters I'm not even sure who will be making love in those comics.

You're completely right. Which is also the main reason most of the ideas from phase 1 didn't make it to phase 2. They're not necessarily bad. But many didn't trigger my right buttons.

Out of curiosity, would I be correct in assuming that a there's no point in re-submitting a Phase 2 runner-up?

It looks like it will win indeed, but I'd rather if you'd wait to celebrate the winner until the poll timer is actually over, which still needs 11 hours to happen (midnight, PST time). Thanks.

Why? Phase 2 entrees already have passed the tracy-likes-it test, by definition. It sure gives them at least a slight better chance against ideas that haven't passed that test yet. ;) It's not a guarantee, of course, but it does help their odds.

This month's winner is a re-submission of a previous loser, so the opposite is the case. Granted there have been only two picks that got to phase 2 back-to-back (if I'm not mistaken) so you may wish to take a month off (both resubmits from July were passed over).

Of course symbiotes win. If it is New Interesting Idea Vs Symbiotes, Symbiotes almost always win. Not that I don't love Tracy's Symbiote works, it's just I like seeing new stuff

You have a point there. The democratic majority selected what they liked most. But since symbiotes just won 2 in a row, I plan on giving a cool-down block on symbiote entries for a few months, for the sake of diversity.

Similar WoS Evil Ending ideas were submitted in Feb and Mar/17. About repeating ideas, it'll depend much more on how interesting they still look when compared to the new ones suggested by patrons. What I meant is that they already look "somewhat interesting", which helps their odds in any scenario. Also, there may be a Runner-Ups exclusive poll coming soon.

I don't think so, symbiote theme never win the polling before since 2016 ,the reason of why symbiote can win in recently polling is this year was the symbiote year , marvel start a series about the symbiote, so it become popular, also WOS was a classic video game of spiderman, that why it can win in that time. I don't think blocking the choices is good ideas , because "venomized series " just on fire, it may attract more new ppls to pledge. Also, the other reason is venom symbiote didn't appear in Tracy's comic long time .

Even though symbiote ideas won the last two polls, they won with 25% and 30%, which means that more than 70% of current patrons prefer sonething else. Attracting new patrons is always good, but the curious thing about symbiote fans is that the great majority of them are only interested in that and nothing else, picking only one comic for that month and leaving right after. Since long-term patrons are more interesting for the campaign as a whole, and they seem to care more about diversity and freshness of themes, it's highly probably that symbiotes will be in a cool down period. I also don't want to be burned out with our slimy aliens, so believe me when I say that's for the best interest of everybody. Lastly, even if I don't "block" these ideas for phase one, it's highly unlikely that I'd chose them for phase two because of my current lack of interest on them right now. So, essentially, I'm just helping patrons not waste their pitch. 😉

Well, this makes it academic, but I'd been meaning to ask; A: does "She-Venom" or "the symbiote" count as a named character in of itself, and B: if one posits a She-Venom story, is one required to name a specific host?

A) It counts as a named character; B) A specific host is better, mostly because I have low interest in too-generic pitches; C) Any symbiotes pitches will be discarded for the next few months, since that theme will enter a cooldown period.
