I'm not going to lie, I'm not as far along as I thought I'd be. I was expecting to be closer to 25% complete with the second part of Chapter 2. Creativity is fickle and it's difficult to concentrate with the stress of censorship knocking on my back door. And by back door, I mean my anus. Ironic that these organizations claim to be against non-con while stripping away democracy and eroding creative freedom against our will.

I'm just going to rant about this for a moment. Regardless of current laws and regulations governing corporate or private entities, our society would undeniably be better off if we didn't allow private companies like MasterCard and Visa to be able to deny us legal goods and services. Higher levels of censorship in a society always coincides with higher levels of crime and sexual assaults.

Australia notoriously holds up fictional content in sexually explicit games to the same rules and regulations as real world actions. They also have a had a consistent rise in sexual crimes in their country, claiming the reason is because more women are speaking up. But marinate with this for a moment. Australia attributes rising sexual assault rates in their country as a result of women gaining the courage and strength to speak up against their assaulters. They spin rising sexual assault cases in their country... as a good thing. Can you think of something more abhorrent?

In stark contrast, America has held firm in their position of freedom of creative expression and has seen nothing but a reduction in crime across the board until the pandemic. America also had the #metoo movement and an increase in women stepping up and speaking out against their assaulters. However, America still had a declining sexual crime rate. You can point to corrilation vs causation all you want, but clearly Australia is doing something wrong over there and I will never, ever champion increased sexual assault statics as a good thing.

Here's a picture of Gemma in her birthday suit to help us all calm down after that rant.

Anyway, this is what my mind has been doing for the past two weeks. I'm amped up and waiting for what happens next. This is going to go one of two ways; Either MasterCard and Visa take a step back after the outcry about this new wave of censorship, or groups like Collective Shout get even more emboldened to go after more content and we see more flavors get the axe.

When things calm down, I fully plan on re-engaging in my work fully. This has been a terrible incident that has affected so many livelihoods. It's so warped how a company, like a rabid animal, will rip apart anything that threatens their profits with absolutely no consideration of the thousands of people they hurt in the process. We're not just talking about people's financial positions when they have their work burned to the ground. We're also talking about the moral implications of banning content that very well may have helped people keep their urges under control. This witch hunt will lead to real people getting hurt, and they don't care. Because it's all about the bottom line.

Don't let these people win. They will take and take and take until we have nothing left. You give them an inch, they will take a mile. Stand against actions like this now so we don't see it get significantly worse later. I beg you guys. Whatever you can do, write a letter to congress, put up a sign in your yard, or just buy a game from a struggling developer who got hit by this censorship.

Thanks for allowing me to vent this all out. I hope it wasn't too exhausting. Stay hydrated!

Not really over the moon 😁

And some of the biggest crusaders against adult content, like the Oklahoma State Superintendant of Schools (reportedly caught watching porn during a board meeting), are also consumers of the product.

While I do agree that games that contain paedophilia should be banned (lets face it, there are some. Saying he/she is 18 just doesn't cut it in some cases.) It still shouldn't be up to a credit card company, its up to law enforcement.

Data suggests that fictional adult content of any flavor has no significant negative effect on society. In fact, all the statistics would suggest the opposite. People don't choose their paraphilias, and I can't imagine a worse hell than being strapped with one that is more condemned than murder. I want everyone to have a healthy outlet for whatever flavors they enjoy as long as they're not harming real people.

Please label them openly as paedo then. As a past victim of child abuse, it really sickened me to see you support it. Unfollowing.

Vincent Vega

Hear hear. I completely agree with everything you've said. I even felt myself start to get riled up too, fortunately I got to see Gemma in the nuddy just in time to help calm me down before someone got hurt. At least that's one sexual assault averted 😂 Anyway, I don't know what the answer is but I'm going to wait and see and hope for the best. Oh, and buy games from struggling Devs, obvs 🙌🏾

Sorry you feel that way, but I certainly understand your position. Thank you for all your support, Thomas.

DMG Entertainment

Actually they are trying to pass a bill similar to what the UK has right now. It is already facing a big pushback as a violation of our 1st Amendment of free speech. Also a lot of big billion dollar adult industries are fighting it. It's not that women are speaking up, it's more mental cases taking it to RL instead of keeping it in their fantasies when they can't get that fantasy material.

i am so tired of people who have opinions and/or values different than mine trying to dictate what is right for me. i know that i'm aging myself here, but the first thing that came to mind when this broke out (again) was jerry falwell and his so called "moral majority" vs. larry flynt. life sometimes seems like nothing more than a big loop that we keep reliving. these people don't seem to be able to differentiate between real life and fantasy in games. there are things i do in games that i would never do in real life, in an adult game or any other kind. i will continue to support and play adult games as long as i am able. sorry for the rant...this just kinda set me off. :}

keystomylockheart

That's my hypothesis too. You take away healthy outlets and people become sexually frustrated and desperate. A sated wolf doesn't hunt.

keystomylockheart

I'm totally set off myself. I understand. It looks like Visa and MasterCard are seeing massive pushback. Here's hoping we get a win this time. Thanks, mrblade.

If they stop game creators making computer rendered or AI renders of some sexual themes because they might entice people to do these actions in real life.......... What about action movies? Following their filosophy they should sure as hell ban all movies where people get shot or killed! All movies containing murder should be banned!

That group Collective Whine is so full of it. Even a basic search of their site for 2 minutes showed they were against *all* adult content - even going so far as to pressure brands from dropping clothing with a Playboy logo! They are the absolute heigh of thought police and will not stop unless countered with a louder collective "shout".
