Marvelous Monday: Storm! (Progress Pics) (Patreon)

But I thought I'd take you throw some of the stages of progress with this week's design of Storm!

The first thing I do is go back and look at their most classic outfits. I also tend to google for fan redesigns to see if there's anything I'm thinking up that's been done a million times already.

I really liked her head piece and cape joined at her wrists!

This is how I tend to sketch! The yellow is because this is still in the Wolverine PSD and he had a yellow background. I don't tend to draw on white though.

Line work! Sometimes people ask how I recolour the inner lines but I've always just drawn them that colour as I go along to speed things up.

I colour her in! Some of my art looks really great in flat colour and I leave it that way but with these Marvel characters, I wanna show a slight three dimensional quality. So I end up shading using a dark layer in a colour that compliments their design well. And then I chose the blue background to make her pop!

MY GOD this was a boring serious of progress pics! I'm working on a big cover for something atm and I'll post lots of progress for that so stay tuned!
