Alright here we go.

For 4 years, I have been developing an animated series based on L. Frank Baum's Oz series. Specifically the book, choosing to avoid any Judy Garland / Pop Culture version as our source material.

It has been a long, long road. But... it doesn't seem to have lead to any Emerald City yet. Budget concerns, the amount of other Oz projects in development, and many other tiny factors have lead to my dream project being a bit of a dead end.

There is still some hope for it, but it's still a long, long way off if so.

This video is our animation test. It's loosely what the show might look like. I call it Paper Mario style, with 2D characters on a physically built world. This was shown at Flame Con at a panel about animation showrunners I was on and the reaction was really positive. Me posting this here is my attempt to just see if there's still any interest and keep some kind of momentum up.

This is still private, and maybe I'll chicken out and delete it in a bit, but for now take a brief look at could've been!

I may share more design stuff with you folks later. SO MUCH WORK went into the bible. But oh well. There's more stuff in development...

This is absolutely beautiful! I love Oz, so I'm biased, but I would love to see this come to life.

This looks so good! I hope it eventually does get picked up I’d love to see more of this version.

I couldnt stop smiling. the animation on top of the live 'set' was beautiful. the animation was perfect and fluid. seemed every ounce of movement each character did was full of life and character. obviously yall talked alot about their personality and how that would translate into the way they move and act. One of the many things I liked is even working with established characters the exact nature of them was unique to this piece. Like the scarecrow evoked curiosity more than...i'd say the Wizard of Oz version was more intellectualism. Hard facts. We can only give support (and what pledges we can afford) but rest assured this is fantastic and one reason it makes me happy is it shows you and your team have amazing talent that will no doubt go into any project yall do get to work on.
