URCHINS - Character Line-up WIP (Patreon)

I'm developing my old Nickelodeon shot again as an adult comedy series. Pitching it kinda like a mix up of Derry Girls, Always Sunny, League of Gentlemen but... Victorian! 

The characters from left to right are

MALORY "MAL" MUDLARK enjoys the finer things in the gutter. He’s a wannabe bohemian, artist, playwright, socialite… whatever the latest trend is.  He is quickly revealed to not be homeless at all and has parents and many siblings in a house on the posh side of town.  However, his parents don’t “get” him, so he’d much rather hang out with the people who do. He loves a performance and will usually handle the “creative” part of the Gang’s schemes.  He is a romantic at heart and falls in love with anything that looks at him twice.  He has fallen for one of the boys in the rival gang… they’d be star crossed lovers if only the boy knew Mal existed.

ALGERNON GUTTERSNIPE IV aka “GUTTERS” is the least morally sound member of the Gang.  Often getting in fights with stray dogs, falling asleep in outhouses and being mistaken for a truffling pig, he’s their biggest liability.  However, he is vital to the group as he displays unusual prowess in various skills and will do the things the others won’t as he has no fear of death or injury.  Unlike Rags, he doesn’t see any escape from their predicament but unlike Tommy, he’s very aware of how much society has shat on them.  He’s just here to live fast, die young and leave the world a little more chaotic than when he arrived.

THOMASIN “TOMMY” TUPPENCE is an easily excitable, emotionally volatile and frequently naive, little scamp who doesn’t know what she doesn’t have.  She loves her life on the streets of Olde Town, for she’s never known anything else.  She’s very proud of her life, to the point of defending her and her friend’s honour whenever people look down on them. Typically though, she is completely oblivious of class, regularly chatting up fops, waltzing into parties with no idea she’s causing a scene (for the wrong reasons) or chowing down on rats and moldy bread as if they're the finest spoils of the Empire.

FANNIE “RAGS” RAGAMUFFIN has a more jaded outlook on their lot in life and wants to tear down the system… as long as there’ll still be eel pies after the revolution.  She wears an eyepatch and often tells tales of her many adventures prior to the other’s meeting her - but her knowledge is dubious at best and she’s easily convinced by the wildest conspiracy theories.  If she was alive today she’d definitely have a podcast.  The only story she tells with a grain of truth is that her Aunt is an infamous canal pirate whom she hopes to one day join. Rags met Tommy in the Rough House and the two have a lot of sisterly vibes.
