Big Boy Now - ROBUG.RED (Patreon)

Things are beginning to heat up with Big Boy Now! The series even have a new name, but I don't wanna debut it juuuust yet. 

I've always known that one of the big hurdles to drawing this series would be drawing the mechs. I'm not the strongest at it and I tried various designs that were more angular and Gundam inspired, but it just wasn't working.

But then it hit me... just draw them how I draw all my characters? Because they are characters, after all. I know that sounds obvious, but thinking more about Barney and Pugsley when designing these really helped. I also looked at the Megaman bosses, Akira Toriyama's vehicles and the softness of vinyl robot toys.

They might not look as obviously giant, but I'll make it work in the context of the books I think. 

ANYWAY - this is Robug.Red, leader of the Robug Squad - a team of giant mechs inspired by various bugs. I liked the idea of the giant heroes taking inspiration from our smallest creatures. I wonder who will be next? 

I'll keep to DeadEndia updates mostly, but I might start making Big Boy Now development my Friday treat, until it comes to making that my main focus.
