Batman & Robin (Patreon)

Yesterday, I posted this artwork of Batman and Robin across social media. I had originally planned to post it here first, but I got impatient. So I've included some exclusive sketches and design work I did to make this final piece.

Drawing Batman characters and then later my Marvellous Mondays series was kind of the way I got more confident in digital drawing. And so at times when I feel my skills are slipping or I've lost control of my style, I return to these characters.

As I prepare to draw Big Boy Now, I definitely wanna get back into drawing superhero poses and the like. I've drawn Batman and Superman so many times, so may different designs... but I feel this is my favourite version of Batman I've drawn yet. My main thing for this was to just remember that Batman's outfit is a DISGUISE, not battle armour. I've also always loved the original design, with the purple gloves. I was even inspired a little by the characters in Persona 5.
