Week 11 of Scarlet.

Kimiko expresses her feelings to Hachiro. However, Joji, Shinsaku, and Yuriko witnessed her being hugged. Furious, Joji slaps Hachiro and takes Kimiko home. Kimiko visits Hachiro's place with Shinsaku's help. The two of them are united in their thoughts about the future. However, Joji continues to refuse to greet Hachiro, and Matsu and Yuriko grow worried.

One day, Teruko comes to the product development office and unexpectedly is going into labor, so Kimiko and Hachiro decide to go along with her. After dropping Kimiko off at home, Hachiro is finally allowed to greet Joji. Referring to the hardships he has caused Matsu in his own life, Joji bows to Hachiro and asks him to give up his dream of becoming a potter and live a steady life.

Kimiko, however, is fiercely opposed. Hachiro, who once agreed to Joji's wish, withdraws it and begs him to let them dream together. At Matsu's urging, Joji allows the two to marry on the condition that Hachiro wins a prize at a pottery exhibition.
