Hey all! While the Modjam submissions have officially closed (Community voting Sept. 8, final results Sept. 17) development for Arms 'n Artifice continues! Today, I've got a bundle of cool modifiers in the early prototype stage! Three of them are quite literally prototypes, still without textures, but the last one is a lot further along... Keep reading to find out more!
📜Requires Neoforge 26.1.2, Requires GeckoLib
📜 Additions Include:
Leech Modifier: When out of ammo, consume your HP to continue firing bullets!
This one gets crazy powerful, especially with the high-damage single-shot guns
Heavy Bolt Modifier: Sacrifice Reload Speed and Firing Speed for extra Damage!
Again, very, very powerful with single shot guns!
Harpoon Modifier: Create a chain attachment to creatures you shoot, reeling them towards you!
Will definitely be renamed
Suppressor Attachment Modifier: A new attachment modifier, hiding your muzzle flash, and significantly reducing the noise your gun makes!
Has some visual quirks still, especially with muzzleloaders
The Leech modifier, in my opinion, is simultaneously the coolest but most game-breaking idea. So far, ammo has been a very tight balancing lever for the mod, which this totally flips upside down. I really like the idea of leeching the shooter's health for a buff, but I'm not sure whether ammo is the right direction.
The Heavy Bolt is also very cool, and gives another avenue of increasing a gun's base damage. The Fire Rate and Reload Speed tradeoff makes for an interesting choice, but the numbers don't feel quite right yet.
The Harpoon Modifier is another chain ability, with much more grandeur than Chainshot, and should hopefully complement Bayonet builds. It might even come as a complete rework to Chainshot, which seems to be the worst modifier in the game...
Finally, the Suppressor: a stylish and functional attachment, although its main practical application will be for PvP. However, guns currently don't set off sculk detection, so maybe that could be a future perk of the suppressor when fixed.
Well, give them a playtest and let me know what you think! I like these ideas, but a few certainly more time to cook . I hope to hear your cool ideas in Discord!
Thank you for the support, and enjoy!
