An Untimely Manner Completely Unhinged hehehe

I'm shocked. In a good way though. I met the channel watching the "game theory" video. That video made me think. Like, a lot. Even got on a trip for 1 day, bought a notebook and started "my own book". One of the first books I checked for my investigation was in fact The selfish gene. And I really felt it. Like, how wrong that ideas was. And now, 1 week from my b-day, you guys did this video. Thank you!! I really really agree with almost everything you said. But still don't know, why in your videos you tend to skip the word "love". Think about the big bang. The "force" that is still going every day through everyone of us. I also checked for "what is life" of shrodinger, so, what others call "negentropy", others "forces of nature", others "replicants" maybe describe the same thing. Please keep the great work coming! Sorry about my english, I'm from Santiago de Chile :D

I’m a complete layperson here, but I’d still like to share some feedback. - I tend to avoid the phrase “natural selection.” Just “selection” already captures the mechanism. (Is there anything “unnatural” in general?) - I’d also avoid saying that genes “survive.” Genes don’t live, so they can’t survive; they simply get copied with some probability and sometimes with errors (mutation). (At 14:32: relabeling the “replicators” as “genes” feels a bit misleading; the replicator is the prime subject of replication.) - Resource limitation feels less like a separate principle and more like one particular flavour of selection. - Mutation is random; selection is structured by the actual environment. - In the California ground squirrel example, the “math” works even if only one individual benefits from the warning. (And the sexual vs. asexual reproduction point isn’t needed here; the argument would work just as well in an asexual framework.) - The closing part circles around “removed agency,” but the system never required agency in the first place.
