I'm concluding that Samson and Xeros are pretty much as bad as each other. Both arrogant and spectacularly entitled. Samson is a budding fascist, but Xeros doesn't seem to care much about the lives of the people around him and is putting his obsession with Samson ahead of everything else.

I hope it's going to be interesting for you to read, but just like Alex, Roman and Xeros both have arcs in this story and both grow and change too. So I'm glad you think Xeros is kind of a dick and too close minded and obsessed because that's definitely how he starts out

Roman's arc is part of the story. He has a character arc rather than being the main character of his/her own story. However, Roman is going to be a big part of this story and then a big part of the second volume when that comes out too
