Ellie and Michelle, welcome To The Danger Zone. Awesome. This is such an iconic 80’s movie with an amazing soundtrack. Also, so visually impressive with this being well before CGI. Michelle, yes there are so many amazing movies from the 80’s & 90’s. I would love to see you guys react to so many movies from this era. Ellie, I’m the same Tom Cruise is not one of favourite actors either but as he always gives 110% in his roles and is so amazing you can’t help but love him. This was amazing from you both. The new one is coming out very soon so obviously they will watch that one. You don’t have to insult it, because it is not on your taste, it shows how immature you are. The polls are mainly for orientation, they don’t dictate their lifes, they still can chose what they want to watch. The non stop complaining even when you get movies is just annoying.

When you watch the new top gun. Everything and I MEAN EVERYTHING was actually shot using real jets by pilots doing real stunts. There is NO CGI in the new movie. Its all real and super damn amazing. Tom Cruise wanted to make sure people knew that the actors actually went up in these jets to film their scenes. Tom cruise actually flies his own plane in the movie, but wont spoil what it is or why. I also served on the ship they filmed the new movie on. I wasnt there the whole time but I saw some of the action IRL. Was really damn cool. The new Top Gun is one of those rare movie where there was NO cgi and is in fact better than the original. Also Val Kilmer battling throat cancer, he can no longer speak so seeing him in the new top gun was emotional.

While Tom cruise has flown planes in the past ( p-51 propeller fighter plane, and a few helicopters ) The navy did NOT grant him access to fly the f-18 fighter jet's used in the film. As it boasts a price tag of roughly $70 million and they would never insure him for such a feat, and also it would have been half the budget of the entire movie $152 million, But he is in the plane every time they fly which is amazing, But yes the actual flying was performed by qualified Navy pilots and Stunt people. Still can't wait for that reaction gonna be amazing :)

I love how you are telling me these things when I was literally there. I know, I was in the Navy, I served on the aircraft carrier this was filmed on, I know they didn't actually fly, I never said they did. I know how expensive those planes are. Did you not read my comment saying I was in the Navy??? Im confused if you are insulting my intelligence or just missed that detail in my comment. I was there. The actors still went up in the F/A-18s to film. I never said they actually flew them. F-18s are two seater aircraft the actors still trained day and and day out to go up in them to film their lines, yes they were in the aircraft the whole time, and yes they actually pulled many Gs up 8 G turns. They sat in the back seat to look like they were flying them, and the planes were flown by Blue Angles Stunt Pilots, A Top Gun Instructor pilot two other Jr Officers. If you want to know WHO was actually flying them.

Erm I'm not sure why you're getting a little defensive man i never once questioned you not being in the Navy even a single time if you say you were there then that's good enough for me, I just got confused where in your first post you said " Tom cruise actually flies his own plane " at the end of your first paragraph on your message. And i said that they went up in the planes in my message also. My message was NOT to question you in any way i was just addressing what you wrote bout him flying his own plane, that's all my previous message was intended to point out.

Unless you meant his IRL plane what he own's , which yes i will also not spoil for the girls then you would be correct, but he did not fly any fighter jet planes in the movie Top Gun Maverick.
