George Bean

One of the very best murder mystery movies I had ever seen in recent years, I strongly believe that Agatha Christie would be proud of this film if she'd have been alive to see it. Hi, Lia and Larry! 😉😀

Gary Slator

I think I might have been one of those who suggested this movie - so Many Thanks, Homies! As George says above, it seems so much in the Agatha Christie style - but superbly becomes a why-dunnit rather than a straightforward who-dunnit.

Grégory Gautier

I really like this movie, I'm looking forward to the second one which should be released this year! **Don't forget "Misery".

Larry, Marta didn’t inject Harlan with an overdose of Morphine. She injected his medications AS PRESCRIBED in their correct doses. The plan by Hugh (aka Ransom) was that he switched the vials so that Marta would be guilty of injecting a morphine overdose, (therefore invoking the “slayer rule” in which the inheritance would default back to the family after Harlan’s death)…however, Harlan flipped the game board over which caused the vials to fall over so when Marta picked them up off the floor she didn’t even look at the labels & just started to inject the medications because she could tell by the density & viscosity of the liquids which were the correct medications. This is why Hugh made sure to blow up the Lab that ran the toxicology screening from Harlan’s autopsy; he saw that it DID NOT SHOW an overdose on morphine. (This is also why the threat he sent to Marta of the Toxic report was ONLY THE TOP OF THE PAGE, as the actual full copy of the report would’ve shown his medication levels to be completely normal, which completely messed up Hugh’s original plan.) Right after the reading of Harlan’s Will, Hugh takes Marta to a restaurant and gets her to spill the beans – literally (lol). When she tells him that Harlan’s death was her fault for mixing up the medications, Hugh realizes that the tox report is actually NOT going to help him get any of the money back and his entire plan is now all messed up. *Again!* – Marta didn’t mix up the medications because Hugh had already switched them to begin with…all Marta did was switch them back. JUST FYI: I studied biochemistry in college and did my doctorate in chemistry. As someone who has worked with all kinds of chemical substances in a lab, it’s VERY TRUE that someone like Marta – a registered nurse – or any other person used to working with such compounds WOULD BE ABLE TO INSTINCTIVELY TELL THE DIFFERENCE BY HOW THEY FEEL IN YOUR HAND. I know it sounds like a huge stretch or something, but this is why I brought up my own credentials & experience working in a research lab as a chemist for several years. This movie really is amazing in how well the script got all these seemingly small details correct. (Which isn’t surprising because all of Rian Johnson’s films are this clever and well thought out; I *strongly* recommend you guys watch all¹ of his other films :D - Brick (crime thriller/dark comedy) - The Brothers Bloom (crime thriller/dark comedy) - Looper (crime thriller, sci-fi) Glad you guys enjoyed this one! (Though I’ve never heard of anyone who had anything negative to say about this movie haha). [1]: I assume you’ve already seen Star Wars: The Last Jedi, so I didn’t mention it because the internet has way too many reactions to SW movies & other SW content. Cheers!

Too bad Mich and Elli didn't watch this, I think they'd really like it.
