Hey ladies....Just a couple of things....The prison wasn't just for homosexuals, but more for those they found undesirable or difficult. I never thought of V being Evey's dad, but that really is an interesting take. It was the real chancellor that was executed by Creedy and believe it or not, the movie was based on a comic book for DC Comics. I love watching your reactions and your should really check out Belle, for a great anime....Look forward to seeing what's coming...Be safe!!!!

Michelle should have watched this with Lia and Viki as Ellie saw this last year

Zack Runner 2049

wait!! I'm Japanese, where Michelle find that "トラカメ” t shirt??

Stealth_

V is always a great costume choice for this time of year 🎃especially after watching this movie

John B

love this movie! has a strong message. Mich is right there is no planet B we have to make this one better. So I'm stockpiling weapons

“People shouldn't be afraid of their government. Governments should be afraid of their people.”

What's really crazy this movie came out in 2005 , and it's literally about a totalitarian dictatorship, and it gains its power by creating a New World Order society due to fear of a virus spreading across world.... the year it takes place is 2020... sound fimilar ?

Josh

Yep , it's basically a New World Order society. Anyone who went to those camps refused to be submitted to totalitarian communist lifestyle. Probably some were resistance , or broke the new mandatory laws. Whats really crazy is the worldwide virus in this movie takes place in 2020. It's what allows the totalitarian dictatorship to gain it's power out of fear & propaganda.

David Hoffman

Actually, V for Vendetta came out initially in 1982, as it was a comic book series. It ran from 1982-1989. Talk about prediction???

Josh

Yeah but the comic & book had no worldwide virus , and the year didn't take place in 2020 like the film did. It was a World War & famine that started it in the book. Even the creators of this film supposedly were shocked by it. They did a article on it. I'd say that's a hell of a prediction https://www.nbcnews.com/pop-culture/movies/creators-dystopian-sci-fi-are-shocked-events-2020-you-are-n1245213 https://www.nbcnews.com/pop-culture/movies/creators-dystopian-sci-fi-are-shocked-events-2020-you-are-n1245213

I can totally see where Ellie and Mich is coming with their worldviews, as I too have similar views on the world, especially when it comes to governments. It's the perfect movie for an anarchist like me.

David Hoffman

Learn something new everyday, thanks for sharing.... It's spooky just how accurate it could actually get. Let's pray smarter heads prevail in the end.....

Este

Have you read the comic? It might be the best anarchist comic ever

George Bean

I haven't but I really would like to so much. There are many comic books I want to read such as The Long Halloween.

YodatheHobbit

Which goes to show that sometimes when stuff happens in real life people confuse great fiction with logical reality and show just how stupid they really are. People's creative brains get in the way of real world logic.
