"...a great warrior comes to join you... as an arrow shot straight into the sun. He is Uncas."

Hi Michelle how the cannons are fired is a large pre-made sack of gunpowder that always weighs the same is put down the barrel followed by the cannon ball that weighs between 6-12 pounds. They are rammed to the bottom by a rod the size of a broom and then the ignition hole on top of the cannon is touched with the metal rod that looks like a “T” which has burning ropes wrapped around it. Once the first round is fired the gun crew can change where the next round goes by raising or lowering the back end of the cannon. Lowering the back end of the cannon will make the shot go farther and raising the back end makes the shot go closer. They adjusted the back end of the cannon with a large bolt that was underneath the cannon and could be turned by hand.

I think if you ladies liked this movie you'll love Dances With Wolves.

Few other movies with Daniel Day Lewis that i recommend There Will Be Blood (2007) In The Name Of The Father (1993) My Left Foot (1989)

Eric Isenhour

Yes. Always a classic for me. This will set both of you up nicely for Dances With Wolves, Apocalypto, and Smoke Signals.

Eric Isenhour

No. Sorry. I watch some of her reactions, but she watches too much animated content for me to join her patreon.

Alain

"Dances With Wolves" never gets past the polls...

Haskell

there will be blood is his best performance in my opinion, but In The Name of the father its a hard movie to react, very sad movie but its awesome movie

I’m so glad that Ellie picked up on the sweeping grandeur of the music in this film – it really does add a huge depth to the drama and tragedy of the storyline – maybe among the most iconic soundtracks of the last forty years or so. And yes, I feel sure the cinematically beautiful, majestic landscapes were included as a stark contrast to the brutal nature (on all sides) of the Seven Years’ War – arguably the first global conflict of its kind.

And just to clear up Elllie and Mish's confusion about the flags seen at the surrender of Fort William Henry; they aren't the "National" flags of Britain and France, but the various flags of the regiments of soldiers (grey coats for the French, red coats for the British) present at the battle.
