Thx for watching my suggetion. as german with a family who served in both world wars i can say that this movie is one of the movies you always have to cry because you cant understand how four persons( for germany Kaiser wilhelm, for russia zar nikolaus III and for austria-Hungaria ,Franz-Josepf)) can bring millions of people for To die for absolutly nothing. And the worst thing is that the person who, 20 years later, would force Europe into the next world war, developed in this war the hatred that would later bring death to so many millions of innocent people. so i think this was long enough .... i hope you have a great day and greetings from germany :) cheers girls

I had watched the original with Kirk Douglas several years ago and watched this one last year on Netflix. Even as a big fan of Kirk Douglas, I have to admit that the horror of war was much more palpable in this newer version. Tough watch. I admire both Lia and Viki for hanging in there.

Kirk Douglas was in Paths of Glory a different WWI movie about the French army. The Original 1930's movie was a German production I believe.

The treaties that ended the first world war were also the embers that started the second world war. Pretty crazy!

I know Ellie and Larry watched Band of Brothers together but I would love another reaction with anyone who has not yet watched it.

Warrior Pitbull

I knew this one would be particularly rough on Viki. Lia is a rock. We love you both for these qualities. Remember, when you feel the sadness and pain of these kinds of brutal historical movies, those lows will make your highs much more meaningful. One cannot enjoy the sunlight having never experienced the rain.
