New video released to the Lovers Tier! + General Update from me... (Patreon)

Hello all,

Just to let you know first of all that part 2 of 2 of the Markle debacle is up on the Lovers tier now!

Otherwise, I thought I would provide you all with a bit of an update with how I'm feeling on moving forward with the channel. I was going to do this via chatty video, but there's certain things I want to say, and no doubt I'll forget some of those things if I try speaking off the cuff, so I'll write here instead!

First of all, wow, 50K subscribers! That's so amazing, and honestly up until recently I never even ever considered I might be able to do this full time. I'm so grateful for all the support I have.

I've been considering my content though, and the way I'm working right now, I think, is stifling my growth a bit. I have a HUGE list of video ideas full of scams, cults, and some weird British TV I want to tell you all about SO BAD, and within those video ideas I have ideas for skits, songs and all sorts - and the way I'm working at the moment - I'm literally spending around 3 months on the same topic, the same video idea. And it's really not ideal for growth to only be making videos on 4 topics per year. So, to be honest I feel like my growth has been stagnant very recently and I believe that's why.

So, for my next few videos, I'm going to attempt to restrict myself to 30 minutes at most, and aim for around 20 minutes. This means more frequent uploads for you guys, and a more compact and fun video experience.

Being a small creator still, I think I'm asking too much on a platform where most people still don't know who I am to sit there and watch an almost 90 minute video which often has a part 2! Even though I obviously love going super in-depth, I don't think it's always the best way to go.

I even want to start streaming on Twitch! Perhaps once a week. Possibly DJing streams, making music streams, chatting streams. I miss DJing, when I started my Youtube channel I literally used to only upload videos of me DJing and making music, playing guitar and singing, and my first 2000 subscribers were from that! I don't want to go back to that, but I want to incorporate more of that into the videos I'm doing now, as I love the videos I'm doing now, but I get too bogged down in the HUGE slog that is the editing stage, and I spend way too much of my time getting stuck down rabbit holes when I could actually be putting my creative juices to much better use. 

Honestly, I feel like I've got more to offer than what I'm putting out into the world right now, and I need to find a structured way of working which will allow me to do all the things I want to do, not just a small bit of it. With the way I'm working now I only get to make ONE silly song every 3 months, and that's killing me haha. I watched Bo Burnham's Inside and I am dying to making shit like that, in my own style. To fill a video on, say, Jordan Peterson with multiple little skit-songs? A song about how wearing lipstick in the workplace is SO WRONG because she's emulating sexual arousal with her red lip colour and that means that men can't help themselves? That would be SO COOL. That's just one idea I have. Anyway.

My computer is also dying a death with all of these super long videos and the export stage takes me literally a week because it fails and crashes so much, not to mention the amount it crashes while I'm trying to edit, and I'm not yet ready to buy a newer faster one, so the stress that causes me every time is not good for my mental health, and only slows the process even more for getting videos out.

For the shorter videos as well (less than 30 mins), as it takes so long to shout out the names on the £5 tier now, I will only be physically shouting out the names on the £10 tier for those ones, but you'll all still get your names on screen, and I still love you all just as much!

Anyway, I'm really excited to see where this channel takes me in the near future and I hope you'll all be here for the ride. Don't worry, there's no huge change to the content, apart from more creativity and less length, basically. And it's for a trial period, to see how it goes. Let me know if any of you have any thoughts, of course, on content ideas and also how I can incorporate Patrons into the process as well. I've been trialing a couple of ideas to incorporate you all recently which I enjoyed and I think went quite well so any more ideas, I'm super open to.
