Here’s the full version for all patrons, because YouTube completely f***ed me over. This version is slightly longer too (with a TW for talk about suicide, the warning is on the video with timestamp to skip to)

Thank you for the support and welcome new Patrons!

I’m working with YouTube to sort out the video there but they’re taking their sweet time (more details on my Instagram story).

OH BOI, as someone who worked for a large climate/conservation org for five years I loved this. I think everyone who works in the field has felt that same frustration and exhaustion that you touch on here. It constantly feels like an uphill battle against a media that is actively fighting against the science in order to stir controversy for engagement and a government that only acts reactively lest they lose votes. The media often diminishes the issue of climate change into a single thing (usually rising temperatures), and rarely connects the dots to talk about related issues like biodiversity loss, ocean acidification, the fucking microplastics they found in unborn babies. They use the tactic of showing “both sides” to create the illusion that a settled issue is still somehow debatable. It’s this gap in public knowledge that allows greenwashing to be so effective. The science has been clear for decades but there’s only so many reports we can produce. Every 6 years or so the IPCC puts out the same conclusions and governments put in a token appearance at COP before another factory (along with our recycling) is shifted to an ex-colony. In the end it’s left to scientists who aren’t great communicators, to come on a right leaning show and poorly defend a think tank backed talking head with media training. Security expert Bruce Schneier coined the term “security theatre” to refer to policies put in place after 9/11, that were designed to make the public feel safer, but had little to no effect on terrorism, like liquid limits etc. I think policy theatre also exists; the act of creating policies with the intention of quelling public unrest rather than addressing the underlying issue. That said, things are getting better, slowly, but we need systemic change to our democracy to facilitate the kind of change it’ll take to not butt fuck the globe into a scorching mad max-esque hellscape. Great work as always

Strong doomer energy. Another great video. Didn't notice any editing mistakes.

I've only been a fan of yours a short while but your videos get better and better each time, this is immense and I really enjoyed it (with a healthy dose of existential dread also)

I get the impression you are working on a climate activism MLM in your down time. How do I get in on the ground floor? As Patreon supporters, we should have early access to start building our downlines.

Bravo, Bravo, Bravo Mr. Beast (eye roll...please go in on that douche next). Excellent job highlighting the insulting cynicism of climate change deniers and conveying how we must strive to be more than we are because it does not matter if we will not reach our ultimate goal, the effort itself yields its own reward. We’ll have more room for our dreams when we take care of our realities. You’ve reminded me that words and actions will never be trampled by the arrogance of power. I am certain your videos are touching hearts and opening minds. #moose

God, YouTube is the worst and probably worthy of a video of its own. This however is an excellent video and a real achievement, and I hope as many people as possible see it.

You had me crying with laughter at the build up to the song, keep on coming with the great videos, you are simply a joy to watch.
