Here I take a look at some parts of pieces that I couldn't fit into the main Napple Tale video. Enjoy!

Excellent job as always. Thanks for making this! (And Happy New Year!) Since you mentioned how the Napple Tale OST is different from pretty much any other video game soundtrack you've heard besides Ninokuni, I was curious about two things: 1) Have you heard the amazing Nioh (first game) soundtrack by Yuugo Kanno (no relation to Youko)? Yuugo Kanno is likely most famous today for his work on JoJo's Bizarre Adventure OSTs for Parts 3-6, but I think his work on Nioh rivals the best of his anime work. I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts. 2) Have you thought about making a video on the key differences between scoring for a video game versus scoring for a TV series or movie? I assume the biggest differences are a) composing exclusively endlessly loopable songs and b) not having premade footage to time the musical beats and swells to (though there are ways of working around that via dynamic scoring like you've touched on before with Ocarina of Time's Hyrule Field). I'd be interested in hearing your take. As you may be aware since I remember you did an excellent video on the Gravity Rush soundtrack, its composer Kouhei Tanaka is one of the all-time great/prolific anime composers. Similarly, Kou Ohtani (who composed Shadow of the Colossus) is just as widely known for his work on anime such as his phenomenal work on Haibane Renmei and Gundam Wing.

Loved this, 8-bit! Have you heard any of Kanno's stuff from the Nobunaga's Ambition series? There's some amazing stuff, in there, especially the orchestral remakes they did for the 25th anniversary. What's crazier is that Kanno just wrote the music in their spare time while in college!

I haven't checked out the orchestral remakes, I'll have to look them up!

Here are my three favorites I've heard so far. https://youtu.be/SU36hWcAUgA https://youtu.be/LML8GfWObqU https://youtu.be/Pl6Te4vV2ws It's pretty fascinating to hear the cues develop between the 8-bit, 16-bit, and orchestral arrangements. Here are the 8-bit versions: https://youtu.be/8UteQ8leXPo https://youtu.be/j5vz6P2ggmo https://youtu.be/Hl_wsJASdX8 And the 16-bit versions of the first two (couldn't find it for the third one): https://fi.zophar.net/soundfiles/nintendo-snes-spc/nobunaga-no-yabou-tenshouki/09%20Theme%207.mp3 https://www.zophar.net/music/nintendo-snes-spc/nobunaga-no-yabou-haouden (Click on "Menu")

Anything off the Nobunaga's Ambition Tenshouki Soundtrack would be fun. Granted, I think her earlier work at Koei is not as fully developed as her more mid-career work like Napple Tale.
