Hi Alex, I am a big fan of Roman history, and Star Wars as well (obviously). If you remember anything from school about the fall of the Roman Republic and rise of the Empire, it sounds eerily like Star Wars, people feeling that the Senate which was made up of aristocrats was failing them, and then a charismatic politician/general seizing power. (Anakin and Sidious each play a combination of Augustus and Julius Caesar in this analogy.) My question is, do you think that when George Lucas was writing this transition, do you think he used history, specifically Roman history as a parallel for people to draw to? Or am I grasping at straws? Thanks for the great content!
