Hi Alex! A quick question for you. In the Clone Wars series we have seen that the construction of the lightsaber is basically a spiritual process. However, in the ROTJ deleted scenes we see Luke basically using a special tool to activate and operate his saber thus not showing involvement of any spiritual process. Is there a "canon" way with which lightsabers are built or depending on the cases, different approaches can be used, like e.g. Ezra building his saber, although his crystal was already atuned with the Force? Is the "Luke in the cave" deleted scene considered canon?

So I have a crazy theory .... We know that Doctor Aphra is getting her own standalone ongoing comic series. This caught us off guard because she seems such a weird choice to be the first non "main character" from a film to get her own comic. Could it possibly be that they are setting her up to be someone significant. We know that she is an archaeologist and has some debts to pay off. She has tangled with the Empire and the dark side partnering with Vader. What if she some how has a connection to Jakku because of the archaeology sites on Jakku and something goes wrong and she is forced to leave her daughter ... Rey behind. This comic starts one year away from Episode VIII and not only that Daisy Ridley has been quoted saying that she knows who her parents are and that it's doesn't seem to important. Now I do believe that's some careful word play on her part but Aphra would fill that role because she really isn't that important but for us super fans we would go crazy. (Sorry for long post)

I think there are multiple approaches. But I imagine Luke still had to use the Force to install his crystal. The tool was probably just for some additional adjustment.

I really doubt it. Disney will likely keep the films very self-contained. Occasionally things like Saw Gerrera might leak in but for the most part characters that appear in the films will have their entire stories told within the films.
