Carl, lid, I've been to CI, and it's not worth the 2hr drive. Fucking packed!! And, if you go with a tour, once you are there, you are there. I recommend visiting the Mayan ruins at Tulum. Take an umbrella with you, though, to give yourself some shade as there is fuck all about, and 40°c. When you are bored of the ruins, wander down the road (5/10mins stroll), and you are on one of the best beaches in the world where you can chill and swim with the turtles.

Loved CI Carl, our tour guide from the Grand Sirenis hotel made the 2 hour drive really interesting with the history of it all. Also warned us how every 300+ tat stall there is owned by the Cartel.
