Just in time for the end of the month, we’ve got the third and final update here with some more of The Hungry Stars. We’re back on Rally to see what’s been and what is happening there. Hint: nothing good. Thanks once again for all your support and I hope you enjoy.

I would love to know if comb and chain is a reference to a real parable or just some world building you’ve done. It’s pretty reasonable that Nibiru could have developed parables and folk tales that never existed in real life that are now considered old but if it’s something real or some corruption of a real parable I’d love to know. Haven’t been able to find anything related to it.

Proximal Flame

It is a real world parable, but (unspokenly) tweaked for world building. The story itself goes as follows: there is a young man and woman, married and deeply in love but very poor. Their two most prized possessions are the wife's long, exquisitely beautiful hair which she struggles to maintain and the husband's expensive pocket watch, a gift from his late father, but it lacks a chain to secure it in place. As Christmas approaches, husband and wife are determined to get the other a gift, but they have no money to spare. Finally, on Christmas day, they surprise each other with a present. The wife reveals that she sold her hair to a wigmaker in order to afford a fine silver chain for her husband's watch, and he reveals that he sold his watch to buy her a set of combs for her hair. The moral of the story as we know it, is that even if all parties involved have the best of intentions, you can still end up with the worst possible outcome. That lesson has been a little bit tweaked in Nibiru's history, but it is still something that has become a common saying within their Icarus division.
