Cookbook Club Recipe #12: Four Recipes Following the Jar Soup Blueprint (Patreon)
Content
Hey Cookbook Club,
It's been twelve months of this wonderful club! From our first test recipe, crunchy roasted chickpeas and carrots, through today's jar soup variations, we've seen this club evolve as I've worked towards my next book. I wanted to let you know this will be our last monthly dispatch in this format—in other words, we're evolving beyond test recipes that require one blueprint and a few variations into something more freeform.
Don't be alarmed because, really, I feel like the Cookbook Club is only just getting started. In our next twelve months together we'll be diving into the dishes I'm working on right here, right now—like this dark roux test I shared the other day—and invite you to continue to take on these projects in the test kitchen alongside me. We'll also be reviewing some of the dishes from the past twelve months that you've shared feedback on, inviting guest chefs to share their recipes with the club, and sharing more behind-the-scenes looks from my writing process.
You can expect a more dynamic, personal, and behind-the-scenes experience here as I share both written in-progress recipes and livestreams where I'm testing and cooking these dishes (don't worry—all livestreams will be saved and published for viewing later!).
I look forward to continuing to share this test kitchen with you! Let us know if you have any questions, and stay tuned for more.
Now, let's enjoy some jarred soups!
— Kenji
Once lunchtime rolls around, these ready-to-eat soup jars are as easy to prep and enjoy as a traditional Cup Noodles—just add water and they're ready to go. Now, they might take a bit more prep time up front, but in these chilly autumn months, meal prepping can really be your best friend anyways.
These jar soups all follow the same blueprint, which you can follow along with in my guide to DIY Instant Soup Jars. If you come up with your own recipe using the flavors and ingredients you love, be sure to share it using this form!
