V0.10 Development Update #3 (Patreon)

Hi. Hope you are all well.

Besides working on v0.10, this week I've also been investigating adding music to the game. It's something I would really like to get done in time for the release of v0.11.

The main problem I've found so far is that, although there are a lot of music libraries, almost all of them expressly prohibit using the music for anything "adult-related".

I have found a few sources though and will continue looking for more. I'll let you know if I make any significant progress.

Ask on a site like f95zone. They will have developers and players that have been there and know where music might be found.

Ocean, the dev from Summer's Gone has massive bunch of music in his game. Ask him where are he's getting the music from - but i am sure he has payed for all the licenses.

Seconded - Ocean has chosen some amazing music for his creation. I've chatted with him about it (more like a Patreon post compliment about the music and his reply) and he says the music takes time to find - sorting the wheat from the chaff for weeks and then investing in the licenses (Waykap - Give My All To You & Lvly - Out on the Roof for ex). Totally worth it as some of the music is tied to key scenes and animations that take that part of the story to the next level. DB - I'd love to have great music with Hillside but only when you have found what you feel will elevate the story and highlight just how special a certain event or encounter is.

I have found that music is a distraction from the story, so I just mute it.

DrPinkCake does similar to Ocean as described above, I think.

You can also ask PhillyGames . Like DrPinkCake he sell his games on steam. Which means, the licenses he got for the music are most likely legal. Edit: I don't know if that's going to help . But , i checked the music license in Being a dick and that's link you get for the licenses : https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/

I'm all for it, DB. As wise person person said, "Music can evoke emotions words cannot." It will take the game, story, and immersion to the next level.

Thanks, Pax. There is certainly a lot of music out there, but as Ocean says, it takes time to find it and then to sort out the licensing.
