At first I also thought it was weird and unrealistic that people would seriously think the Hellfire club members are dangerous freaks. It was even my biggest point of criticism with season 4, because I couldn't take those people's behaviour seriously. It turns out I was wrong though, because a few weeks after watching season 4 I learned about the "Satanic Panic", which was apparently a real thing in the 1980's. A surprisingly large number of people apparently thought that D&D and other harmless fantasy stuff was some sort of "gateway drug" into satanism and a lot of deaths were (mostly falsely) linked to ritualistic murders. I was shocked to learn this. I couldn't believe that so many people in the 80's had such a medieval mindset.

Most despicable characters in TV history: 1. Joffrey from Game of Thrones 2. Warren from Buffy 3. Angela from Stranger Things P.S.: Enzo is played by Tom Wlaschiha. He played Jaqen H'ghar in Game of Thrones, that's probably why he seemed familiar to you.

Angela - Feel like actually **lling her 🫥 the actor has got a beautiful face but her character here no way no. True this season is something else... I feel so bad for Eddie poor guy.

I love the emotional ping pong during El's roller skate justice scene. It's like one of those cartoons with an angel and a devil on your shoulders.

Yea, the 80s also saw a boom in televangelism so all these super preachy voices were being heard all over TV and radio at the time and well, people listen to those things especially in the US and you get extreme christian ultraconservative movements that become witch hunts to anyone outside the 'norm". But I think that Satanic Panic has still persisted in some way or another. I remember when the first Mortal Kombat game came out these people would tell parents that it would turn kids violent and demonic, and when Pokemon became popular, same thing. That it was the devils work making it seem cute to lure little kids to play with demons and monsters etc.....and we still see this kind of thinking today with new stuff

I don't that Will doesn't do anything to help El. This whole school experience is new for her and the only thing Will does is mention it to El a few times. She is the one that lies of course she will not understand the harm she is doing. Will should have been the brother to El that Jonathan was in the first 3 seasons for him.
