Daeron is the youngest son of Viserys and Alicent. He was sent to be the cupbearer and squire to Lord Ormund Hightower, his mother Alicent's cousin, in Oldtown.

Alicent and Viserys have a younger third son, Daeron. He's in Oldtown right now. He is a pretty important character in the book, but this is the first time we have the confirmation that he exists in the show.

Yeah I guess they figured it would be overloading to have an extra younger son in the background in S1 with so many to get to know, so figured they'd introduce him this season.

I think Otto tried to prepare Aegon but he couldn't really do it openly in front of Viserys. And at Laenas funeral we see Aegon hiding from Otto and drinking so I guess he wasn't very compliant either...

few point about Cole this episode 1- you are not alone in hating Cole but there is something else happened about him that makes him very dangerous. when he says "There is no absolution for what i have done" means that if before he had a little bit of honor and dignity now he has none and he will continue to suppress his guilt and now he is not only the lord commander and the hand, he has strong influence on Alicent which makes him the strongest man in kingslanding 2- that last scene between Alicent and Cole based on the actors interview it was supposed to be longer and more animalistic to show the destructive relationship that they have 3- Cole can be both the lord commander and the hand at the same. he will be the second person in westeros history to become both Also show runner confirmed that Daeron, Alicent's son was not in season one because they didn't had time to develop his character and his first appearance will be in season three unfortunately

Technically they acknowledged him in the S1 finale, when Daemon says they have 13 dragons to the Green’s 4. But yes this is the first we hear of him by name in the show.
