The scene with Killian and Liam over the lava always reminds me of Frodo and Sam in Mount Doom haha

The actor who plays Hades is Greg Germann, best known for his role in the series Ally McBeal, which was awesome.

The thing I always feel we have to remember about Liam and his dynamic with Killian is that he was also sold by his Father, but that he was also then immediately thrust into the role of parent to Killian. We see in this episode that Killian fell into alcoholism at some point during that time, and was kind of a mess and just willing to fight and Liam had to stop him from fighting Silver, gave up being in the Navy because Killian had gambled away his money so he would've had to leave him behind. He would've grown up just as powerless as Killian did, while also feeling totally responsible for him. IMO you can see the kinda paternal role he takes whenever he's with Killian. He grew up having to make these decisions to try and keep his brother safe, probably failing a lot as he was also just a child in the worst situation imaginable. And I can totally understand his reasoning of wanting to be a perfect example for him because of all that. His view of the world and healthy relationships was skewed by the way he grew up and he just wanted to give Killian hope for something better. Those two were never going to be able to have a totally healthy relationship, their situation was far too traumatic and damaging. I think it was genuinely as healthy as it could've been. And I totally get Liam not thinking Emma's good enough for him. I mean, after he died he probably started meeting people in the Underworld who Killian eventually killed. For 200 years he probably heard the tales of Captain Hook, somehow found out it was his brother, and was heartbroken to know his brother went so far down that dark path he'd always tried to keep him off. Then he likely started hearing the occasional story of Captain Hook having teamed up with the heroes and helping to save people and was probably SO relieved. Only for him to then show up, with Emma and her whole family in tow, with this story of Emma turning him into a Dark One and forcing him back into that darkness, taking that choice from him (always gonna think about how both are likely very sensitive to their choices being taken from them due to their childhood...) and then him sacrificing himself. Sure, he could understand the need to do whatever possible to save Killian, he's done it himself, but I can get it. Really, it's just like David being protective of Emma when she and Killian first started flirting. Sorry for the essay. In a Jones Brothers feels session rn...
