RIP Sirius Black, He has been so horribly wronged by the Wizarding World when he was completely innocent and died a hero protecting his godson 🙏🏼😢.

Oh god. Sirius is one of my fave characters in HP ans his death is so heartbreaking and tragic. His bond with Harry is one of the best things to come out of this franchise. These lines from the book, after Sirius' death, always stuck with me : "if Sirius was not reappearing out of that archway when Harry was yelling for him as though his life depended on it, the only possible explanation was that he could not come back" Harry accepted Sirius' death only because he wasn't answering him, because Sirius never kept him waiting. The man stayed in a cave, survived on rats just so he could be close to his godson. They have so many parallels. Both of them grew up in an abusive, toxic household and wished to run away. Both condemned by the Ministry for things they haven't done, found loving families through their friends (Weasleys and Potters) at Hogwarts, locked up at their childhood homes that they absolutely hate. The books go into more details about how much Sirius hates living at that place, and Harry could relate to him. They deserved to be together and happy.

I've heard before that the scene after Sirus dies and Harry is screaming, the reason they made it silent is because Daniel's screams were so realistic that it was absolutely heartwrenching to the cast and crew. His acting really did improve a lot with this movie. Sirius was one of my favorite characters from the books, and no matter how many times I see this scene I can't help but cry. The moment I see that arch I just feel instant dread knowing what's coming.

Andrew

You're such a beautifully empathetic reactor. This video was a joy to watch as always but man I was dreading when you got to that ending, I knew it would break your heart with how much you were loving Sirius and Harry's relationship.

Andrew

One detail from the book they didn't include was that Umbridge was the one who sent the dementors after Harry. She figured either they'd take care of him or he'd be discredited after using magic against them. I really don't know why they didn't include that, it's like one line right before she's about to use the Cruciatus Curse on Harry.

Asaunte

Lmao I knew that as soon as Luna Lovegood was introduced, you'd love her. I love her as well.

DaniMarie

It's not really said in the movies but I'd like to point it out since you've noticed the similarities between Neville and Harry. But Voldemort just as easily could have been obsessed with Neville. The prophecy professor Trelawnley spoke in her trance in the 3rd movie also applies to Neville. The only difference is Voldemort chose harry as his equal because they both are half blood Neville is a pure blood. It's a little hard to explain but had Neville had half blood parents the story could just as easily be about him. So you'll see similarities between them alot.

Unfortunately, the movies omit some key details from the books that explain Fudge's drastic change in attitude toward Harry. In the book version of Goblet of Fire, Rita Skeeter plays a much larger role, relentlessly smearing Harry and his friends with articles that paint him as an attention-seeking, unstable liar, which goes on for the entire school year. This widespread negative press is the reason why the wizarding world, and people like Fudge, begin to doubt Harry’s credibility. Additionally, Fudge has always been a coward at heart, deeply insecure about his position and fearful that Dumbledore is plotting to replace him. These factors together are the reason for his denial of Voldemort’s return.

Noah Goldman

"Voldemort makes his intentions very clear, and I respect that" 🤣

Shandler

You're right to compliment Daniel Radcliffe's acting. I think it was around about this time that he started to very seriously pursue it as a career - including starring in a Broadway play. He improves in every movie and by this point he's an excellent lead. One nice little detail about this movie is Harry's outfit when he's teaching Dumbledore's Army. Daniel Radcliffe suggested that he wear the cardigan as it's similar to what Lupin wears - Harry's favourite teacher and the one he'd most like to emulate.

Camelot VFX

Yeah the weirdest thing about the Ministry hearing is that no one ever brings up the fact that the Muggle that Harry performed the Patronus charm in front of was his family member who already knew that Harry was a wizard and that magic exists...

gak9319

I'm gonna have to disagree with you, best Godfather ever is Vito Corleone😄

Noah Goldman

One dark detail that isn’t entirely clear in this movie (but gets mentioned in the last movie): Bellatrix didn’t kill Neville’s parents. She tortured them into insanity with the Cruciatus Curse. You may remember that Igor Karkaroff informed the Ministry that Barty Crouch Jr. (a.k.a. fake Mad-Eye Moody) was involved in the torture of Frank and Alice Longbottom with the Cruciatus Curse. So they are actually still alive as of this movie, and currently in a mental hospital. (Neville actually visits them in the book.) A more boring detail: the Aurors are the Ministry’s magical police – the English wizard equivalent of the FBI. You saw them… *try* to arrest Dumbledore in this movie 😉

Keeley Thurman

Yes that man holding onto Cho and Harry is a Weasley. Percy Weasely. He graduated Harry's 3rd year and then went and worked for Barty Crouch Sr in book 4. After that whole fiasco (which was much more involved in the books) he then became Fudge's assistant in book 5. He's very upwardly motivated-- having been head boy and against all rule breaking etc-- and as such chose to believe the Ministry/Fudge about Dumbledore and Harry and it created a rift between him and the rest of his family, especially Mr. and Mrs. Weasley. You are the first reactor to ever point him out that I've watched <3

As always, I loved your emotional reaction and in-depth analysis! It’s impressive that you actually articulate points that are explicitly stated in the books, sometimes almost verbatim. Your thoughts on discovering that James bullied Snape as a teenager were especially compelling. In the books, Harry actually goes through a bit of an identity crisis after witnessing Snape’s memory—because, as you aptly noted, up until that point, he took pride in being compared to his father. He even consults with Remus and Sirius afterward (something the movie left out), and they ultimately reinforce the same conclusion you reached: that while James’ treatment of Snape was inexcusable, he did change and mature as he got older. The prophecy is definitely one of the more complex elements of the story. The books dedicate entire chapters to exploring its meaning and its connection to Harry and Voldemort, whereas the movies only touch on it briefly. Essentially, what’s important to know on the most basic level is that the prophecy was made before Harry was born, and when Voldemort learned of it, he saw it as a direct threat, leading him to target the Potters in the first place. Looking forward to your reaction to Half-Blood Prince.

Kelsey

Some of my absolute favorite scenes are in this movie. The Weasley twins setting off all the fireworks in the school and leaving in that fashion, Dumbledore and Voldemort facing off toward the end, and Harry fighting internally to resist hate and choose love and friendship (with the flashbacks of his friends). Also, I highly recommend that you read the books at some point. I saw the movies several times before I ever read any of the books. I finally read them as an adult and, oh my goodness, I fell in love with them. They have so much more detail and entire side stories that the movies were not able to put in. Every single character is fleshed out and questions that the movies leave you with (such as Harry in relation to the prophecy) are answered in depth.

Razzer95

This is the biggest book of the series and they did a great job compared to the Goblet of Fire when trying to squeeze all the little stories into the movie. Umbridge was actually worse if you can believe it in the book; sent the Dementors after Harry, set a motion forward making it near impossible for magical creatures werewolves especially to get a job, tried to have Hagrid arrested she was honestly the worst! I feel they didn't do the Cho/Harry relationship that well. They did try dating but Harry quickly realised she wasn't his type, she gets too emotional, still harbouring feelings for Cedric and talked ill of Hermione. It's also a shame they didn't have the massive blow up with Harry in Dumbledor's office where he starts breaking things and screams at Dumbledore for Sirius's death. Lastly I may be wrong here so someone feel free to correct me but I believe Daniel's Grandfather died during the filming of this movie so he used that grief for that gut wrenching scream when Sirius died.

Michaela Julia

Regarding the Room of Requirement they really slashed the complete "mechanics" of the whole thing for this movie. No, the school does not do anything like "wanting to fight back". Whoever needs a room for whatever purpose, even an evil one, will get it. This is a bad shortcut the scriptwriters took.

Michaela Julia

Regarding the "theme" of Harry Potter, it is much more clearer in the books. Not in the content itself but in the chosen "point of view". All of it is written from either Harry's or Voldemort's experience. Only 2 exemptions. One was the very beginning of the 1st book. Another is at the beginning of the last book.

Muna

Spoiler free: This was explained in the books: the Ministry cannot automatically detect who exactly produced a spell or who exactly witnessed it, they only know what spell is performed, its general location, and if a Muggle was present or not. Investigations take place afterward to discover who the culprit is and what happened. An example of this is in the 2nd book when Dobby used the Hover Charm on the cake, the Ministry knew it was the Hover Charm but they thought Harry did it because it occurred in the Dursley's house and Harry is the only wizard present in that household. When it was explained that the house-elf did it, the Ministry dropped the issue. Here though it was explained that the Muggle was his cousin (who knew of magic) but the Ministry was hell-bent on charging him so they didn't care and proceeded with the hearing, especially since they didn't believe the Dementor story.

Muna

Spoiler Free: Amazing reaction! Harry's struggle in the Order of the Phoenix is definitely hard to watch, especially considering the Ministry's denial and treatment of him, Umbridge's reign of terror, and Sirius's death. But this installment of the series is a pivotal one as it explains so much of the lore. Lots of things were brushed over in the movie so I'll try to answer the questions you had. Fudge's Denial: Before he was Minister, the entire wizarding world called for Dumbledore to be Minister as he was extremely revered and popular. Fudge felt bitter about this since his polls were average but he won since Dumbledore refused the position. Fudge got used to the power and loved it, but his paranoia and bitterness resurfaced when Dumbledore started to tell everyone of Voldemort's return due to fear and wanting to hold on to that power. The Prophecy: in full from the 5th book: "The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches... Born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies... and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not... and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives..." Voldemort learned of only the first half of the prophecy (up to the 7th month part) before the birth of Harry. Two babies fit the description (Harry and Neville) but Voldemort decided to go after Harry (the half-blood like himself and not the pure-blood Neville interestingly) and in doing so fulfilled the second half of the prophecy (marking him as his equal through the scar, through the transfer of some of his powers). Most prophecies are self-fulfilling and this one is no different. The chapter that explains this has so much more amazing information and connections to all books, a definite must read! :) Neville: You already noticed how similar him and Harry are and that is also seen with the Prophecy. But his parents are still alive, in St. Mungo's hospital permanently due to them being driven to insanity from Bellatrix and Barty Crouch Jr as well (not mentioned in the movies). He lives with his Grandmother who raised him since. Snape & James: Harry was definitely shocked to learn the father he idolized for so long was indeed a bully (even if it was only to Snape who Harry hated anyway). He struggled with this information a lot in the books and confronted Lupin and Sirius about it who explained that they as kids were stupid and young and had a rivalry with Snape but grew out of it and matured. Snape's hatred for James (and vice versa) truly never stopped which explains why he treats Harry poorly. Detection of Illegal Magic: I wrote this as a reply to another comment but I wanted to write it here too. The Ministry cannot automatically detect who exactly produced a spell or who exactly witnessed it, they only know what spell is performed, its general location, and if a Muggle was present or not.

Camelot VFX

Yeah that's all correct, but my point is I would have thought that issue would have been brought up more as a defense. Like... it's not a breach of secrecy because Dudley already knew. I know the Ministry doesn't know who the Muggle is right at the beginning, but I felt Harry and Dumbledore should have immediately used that as part of their defense.

Noah Goldman

Also, not a huge deal, but I would have liked to hear your final thoughts on Umbridge at the end of the video! I get that Sirius’s death was fresh in your mind though…

SoFieReacts

I think, I talked about her enough during the reaction and what I thought about her. I would’ve just repeated myself at the end 😅

Muna

Hm I don't think that would be a part of their defense because the crime itself is performing underage magic in front of a Muggle in a Muggle area, whether that Muggle knows of magic's existence or not. If they could use that as a defense then all illegal or underage magic done by Muggleborns would be considered dismissible in court if magic was performed with their families which isn't the case. The letter Harry got says this: "We have received intelligence that you performed the Patronus Charm at twenty-three minutes past nine this evening in a Muggle inhabited area and in the presence of a Muggle. The severity of this breach of the Decree for the Reasonable Restriction of Underage Sorcery has resulted in your expulsion from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry". The letter is factually correct and does prove wrong-doing so the only thing saving Harry law-wise was the circumstance of why he performed the magic, ie due to a life-threatening situation, not that the Muggle happened to be his cousin. But even so, the old Fudge would have dismissed the case anyway like with the Aunt Marge issue due to his previous liking of Harry. The only reason they decided to practice the full extent of the law was because they were hell-bent on charging him.

Raquel

I just want to say that the fifth (book and movie) is possibly my second favorite after the third (the next one is very close behind). Once again, an incredible reaction, Sophie! I started following you because of Buffy, and I've stayed with you because I've seen and adore the shows you watch. I love each and every one of your reactions, and except for Breaking Bad (for now), I follow them all. This is starting to get addictive...😂 I'm dying to see more HP, Friends, Charmed... well, any of them. I'm happy every time you post. You're definitely the best! And if you ever go with Castle or Gilmore Girls, I'll be dying! 😍 P.S. I recommend, as others have, that if you have the chance, you read Harry Potter; it's truly worth it! You'll be able to resolve all your doubts, learn much more about the characters you love, and appreciate many of them in more depth than the films don't.

Butters

Hate to nitpick, but that isn’t true. There are other instances. For example, hermione setting snape’s cloak on fire in PS and frank bryce in GoF.

Michaela Julia

Yeah ok, but at least in these scenarios Harry or Voldemort are still in the ... er ... vicinity.

Elisabeth Hutchinson

I love you. It's been a while since I've read the books, honestly I read them in high school 5 years ago. I appreciate the refresher as well! I gotta pull out my HBP copy to get ready for Sofie's next vid!

Muna

Aw thank you, I'm glad my comment was a refresher for you! I re-read the books last year which was so much fun :)

Alyssa Dyson

Didnt read the comments but an Auror is a dark wizard hunter. Mad eye moody was one of the best.

Elisabeth Hutchinson

No spoilers: They did Neville so dirty in the movies. Like you point out, he is very alike Harry. Actually, Neville could've just as easily been the chosen one instead of Harry. The full prophecy from the book goes like this: "The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches... Born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies. And the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not. And either must die at the hands of the other for neither can live while the other survives". Both Neville's and Harry's parents "thrice defied" the Dark Lord. Both Neville and Harry were "born as the seventh month dies" [at the end of July]. In the end, it all came down to Voldemort. He chose to pursue Harry and his parents because like himself, Harry is a half blood and James and Lily had already "thrice defied him", so he tried to kill Harry, marking him as his equal. Literally. With a scar, from the failed Killing Curse. Not to mention, in the books, Neville is a big part of the fight in the Ministry. He even shoves his wand into a Death Eater's eye because his jaw gets broken and he can't say the spells. He endures the Cruciatus Curse from Bellatrix for a while, just so Harry doesn't give the Death Eaters the prophecy. The same one she used against his mother and father. Neville really showed his bravery in this book and why he was placed in. Gryffindor. He's just as brave as Harry, the only difference is Voldemort just didn't see him as a threat. Everyone underestimates him, but Neville is a trooper. In the movies, he's just used as a running gag.

John Walker Is That Dude

As bad as Draco may be what Harry and his friends did to Cho is far worse. They already knew Umbridge was threatening Cho’s mother therefore her as well so for them to not even talk to her basically shunning her made me done with harry. Do me like that just once I’m forever done with u I’m not going to be tortured only for my so called boyfriend and friends to bully me we are over. Like father like son looks like it took harry awhile to be the head bullies like James and Sirius were.

Tom

Sofie"s righteous indignation, fueled by her empathy with, and love life fo,r Harry is beautiful, and fierce.

nevils parents did not die they got turtured so badly they got brain damage they live in a hospital and cant even remember their names

Huron

so frustrating watching this with you, how can someone pause and go back so much?

Thomas Barube

lol when reactors dont pause, people complain that "they're not paying enough attention" and when they take time to analyse scenes, people complain that "there's too much much pausing".

Ricardo B,

That's the reaction part.

Michaela Julia

Yeah well. And I hate it when reactors just bulldoze over equally interesting parts while they talk about prior scenes. They totally miss nuances or reveals in the process. I'm glad Sofie doesn't do that.

Bryce

I get that and I don't mind people pausing and going back if they don't understand something. I appreciate people actually trying to understand what's going on but she will literally pause in the middle of someone's sentence and ask questions that literally get answered at the end of the sentence she paused. If she would just let the whole scene or sentence play out she probably wouldn't get confused so often. She really needs to work on not pausing AS MUCH and only going back to understand things after she has seen the whole scene. Its infuriating watching her replay the same sentence 4 times because she wont let them finish the whole sentence.

Kaljasser

Oi. I get your frustration, but that's just how some people's mind work. It's not something you just magically "work with" and change. It could even be part of several different diagnoses. It may be infuriating to you but it may just as well be something she and many others just cannot realistically affect. I trust you mean no harm, but I hope you won't tell people just "work on things" when you can't know if they realistically can do it. Changing something about oneself ain't never that simple my friend.

Kaljasser

In some ways, yes. In general, I have to say I disagree.

Huron

Guys, I'm not hating, it's just that I came through the youtube and unfortunately the pace is a little bit different there, at the time I posted the comment I was frustrated cause I was watching with her and she was pausing at the most dramatic parts but I love her reactions 🙏🏻

Kaljasser

They did Ron dirty as well. I love these movies but some character changes were a bit much. But at least Neville got his moments in last movies.

El Grillo

It's interesting watching these full reactions, I've only seen your youtube ones before but signed up for these because your Prisoner of Azkaban youtube one was so great lol. You would adore the books. There is so much more to them than can be fitted into the movies. I would say the amount of pauses and comments on these full reactions makes it a bit difficult to enjoy them, I love your comments but sometimes there are just so many interruptions at the key moments of the films or talking over the best dialogue that it is tough haha. But then again I understand you have to get your comments in so that you can get enough material for the shorter youtube version. Anyway, it's great to see these movies again and hear your thoughts!

Laure

Neville was raised by his grandma he mentioned her several Times

David Silvas

I love watching these movies again with you. I enjoy you face when sirus died

Janel Davis

Man this hits differently in 2025 America

Malin

I love that you are so observative. You see things most reactors don't. I love it. I don't regret buying this series on patreon

darkchaos125

In the beginning when Harry saved Dudley, because his Patronum is so powerful, it tends to take on the form of a stag, unfortunately they did not show this in the movie but that's what happened in the book. Harry 'directed' the Stag to hit the first dementor and chase the other(s) near Dudley and around them. A lot of similar details from the books are kept from the movies. Its not explained well but Mrs Figgs who told Harry to keep his wand out (after saving Dudley) is actually a neighbor who lives near the Dudley family. She is a "Squib", which is a term for a person who is usually from a Wizarding/magical family who is unable to 'use' magic, but can still 'see' magic such as Dementors. The caretaker of Hogwarts, Mr. Filch, is also a Squib. Like Muggles, Squibs can't 'use' or 'cause' magic to happen (like Harry causing a glass window to disappear/re-appear), but like Magic-Folk, Squibs can still detect, feel, and see magical phenomenon, such as seeing Magical creatures and effects of magic on the environment. It is said, (this is to the best of my knowledge of JK Rowling's Wizard World lore), Muggles aren't supposed to be able to see Magical Creatures like dementors or even Unicorns and Hippogriffs or Pixies. Physical objects such as balls used in Quidditch, they can probably see since they're balls built with "Charms" into them. The Defense against the Dark Arts is a class you know. The Dark Arts is 'natural' to the wizarding world, which not only is about spells, but also Magical Creatures and how magic works in general. Magic can be categorized into: Charms: Spells that are meant to be used for everyday life, or any spell that isn't meant for fighting. They may be spells for heat, invisibility, gravity (leviosa and levioso spells), light (lumos). Anything that isn't Charms is called "Dark Magic", which means Dark Charms/Spells that are meant to cause a negative effect or "harm" on something or someone. Jinx(es), Hex and Curse(s) Spells are Dark Magic. Jinxes are spells that may cause some minor "annoyance" like tingling, stinging, or tickling. Hexes may burn, boil, melt, or other. Curses as you know, involve generally the Three Unforgivable Curses, but there are other Curses actually because we've seen Curses put on objects that do weird things like in the Half-Blood Prince. Wandless Magic and Incantation-less Magic: There is also the possibility where Wizards/Witches can use spells without incantation (speaking the spell's name). Those who are the most powerful and in tune with magic and wands, are able to cast spells without saying the spell's name and/or can use spells without a wand. An example of this is Harry causing the "Bloating" charm on his aunt, and Dobby using the Float charm (similar to Wingardium Leviosa) to achieve the same effects. Dumbledore is well known for being able to use wandless magic, as he is seen pointing his finger to save Harry falling from the sky in the third movie "Arresto Momento", which uses the words "arrest" to "stop" or "slow down" and "momento", which borrows the root word "momento" for "momentum" (speed/movement", which translates to slow/stop movement or momentum. thank you for criticizing the fact the Ministry of Magic has shown a floating/flying talking envelope in front of Muggles. However its okay because they're adults and Harry is underaged and does not have a "license" to practice magic independently on his own yet. Honestly, this is one of the many weak and bad writing from JK Rowling, including wandless magic and incantation-less magic, which was explained and added much much later. There's a lot of weird writing in her books and the third one is one of them. Many people love it. I don't. Werewolves and vampires are a bit overrated for me, and the plot twist was just way too sudden, but very typical for a female writer honestly....she's not very good at writing boy characters, and I consider Hermione Granger a "Mary Sue" who knows too much about the Wizarding world, moreso than the average Wizard/Witch, and is somehow a prodigy despite being muggle-born. She's overly omnipotent and strong and is clearly more Main Character material than Harry since she is also extremely logical and practical. She has little to no flaws. In the end, Sirius called Harry by the name "James" because Harry has much courage and bravery and the will to fight/protect, just like James Potter. Harry's full name is Harry James Potter actually. It is theorized and possibly hinted that Harry has a lot of gold in his bank because the Potter family might have an ancestor who made a lot of money due to an invention (possibly a famous type of a potion for healing a certain ailment). One of the best things I love about the books is how the Weasley family and their home is like a real or 2nd home to Harry, while Hogwarts is Harry's "real" home away from the Dursley family. Mrs. Weasley seriously treats him like a son while McGonagal is kinda like a granny/aunt/mother/strict nun to Harry. Hagrid and Sirius are like cool and kooky Uncles to Harry, while some elements of Lupin and Sirius are fathers to Harry. Arthur Weasley is a bit like that too. The movies cut this out but Arthur Weasley actually visited the Dursley family but his presence and wand freaked the family out so much, he had to destroy stuff thrown at him with the Flipendo spell, and their memories had to be erased pertaining to his visit (if my memory serves me correctly). This happens toward the last 1 or 2 books I think. Arthur Weasley is 'quite' fond and interested in Muggle culture, including their inventions and technology, being able to live without magic. There was a scene (I believe) in a later movie where Arthur shows Harry some of the muggle items he collected, and he asked Harry a lot of questions about their functions. His question from the 2nd movie where he asked "what is the function of the Rubber Duck" was kinda funny. this is slightly unrelated but the actor for Delores Umbridge also played a role as Queen Elizabeth II in the famous tv show called "The Crown". If you're interested in English royalty, I highly recommend watching it. I normally dont' care for English royalty but I got hooked! She played an older version of Elizabeth II, I think....she did a VERY good job of it too! You'll like her. She did a very good job in being an unlikeable character in Harry Potter XD 57:50 Ron eating tons of food is a reference to Harry and ron going through puberty, with Ron becoming hungrier due to maturing into a young adult, and becoming an athlete. It also helps explain how/why Harry/Ron grew very tall in the books and movies. 1:34:37 Majority of Sirius Black's family was actually Slytherin so Sirius being in Gryffindor made him the black sheep of the family. I believe you see one of his relatives or ancestors from one of the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find him movies (the side story / prologue movies to Harry Potter) Good job in noticing Ginny's subtle facial expressions. Remember when Bellatrix escaped from Azkaban and Neville put down the newspaper with a somewhat serious/angry look on his face? It's because at that moment when he found out Bellatrix escaped, it meant the one who tortured his parents escaped, in other words, his and his family's mortal enemy. To answer your question, the person who raised Neville was his grandmother. She is referenced just lightly multiple times throughout the books ever since the first Book/Movie when she sent a Remembrall to Neville by Owl mail delivery. Neville's parents had been tortured so badly that it screwed up their mental state (minds) and ability to care for Neville. Right around the scene where Umbridge confronts Dumbledore (after catching Harry and students using the Room of Requirement), you will see Percy who is right by Harry. It's been referenced since the 2nd book/movie that Percy is trying to graduate Hogwarts to become an employee of the Ministry of Magic, so...here he is. You actually see him as an employee earlier this movie. What's rather interesting to me is that Ginny looks a bit like Harry's mother. Both Harry's mother, Lilly Potter, and Ginny, are very good at Charms.

Nat 🌸

Your reaction to Umbridge is perfection 🤣 I hate her so much and she’s not even real so I feel your pain jgkgkfkf lol

Nat 🌸

Your empathy and intuitiveness is something so special. I truly admire that about all of your reactions. You are such a beautiful person. Never change 🫶🏻

Mel

I’m not sure if anyone has mentioned it but in the books it’s revealed that Umbridge was the one that sent the Dementors after Harry. She said Fudge didn’t have the nerve to do it. She went behind his back and sent them for Harry.

Mon Pérez

The thing that makes more interesting about Voldemort choosing Harry instead of Neville is that he saw that he’s half blood just as Voldemort was. He saw that part of himself in Harry. Everything else about your comment is so beautiful written, thank you.

The Mad Whacker😉

I think Umbridge is much worse than Voldemort. At least he is evil for a reason.

Azer S

"Oh, so doing magic in front of muggle is forbidden...then same ones in front of which you send a talking letter? And how is this confidential?" Yeaaah, here's the thing about the ministry of magic. They have a very "case per case rules". Very convenient for them. Convenient for who they like (like when Harry turned his aunt into a ballon). Not convenient for who they don't like. Harry basically lost the minister support by babbling his mouth, so they took the first excuse to punish him. Also it is akward because Hermione have been talking shit with other girl about Luna, calling her Loony. And she revealed it by slipping up. Kind of disapointed of hermione here

And he doesn't try to hide his evil like she does.

They felt betrayed at the moment of the occurrence which is understandable. However, Harry and his friends realized that Cho was interrogated with Snape's truth potion when they were caught in her office. Cho was never going to tell Umbridge the truth, but they took advantage of her because of her state in mind and sneakily had her drink the truth potion that was put in her tea. The reason they took advantage of her situation was because they knew that she was getting somewhat close to Harry.

Very late! But no, Daniel Radcliffe's grandfather did not die on the set of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. This is a false and very popular internet rumor about the film. However, both those responsible for the film and behind the scenes confirm that this never happened. The sound of the scream was merely an artistic choice by director David Yates (to make the scene more operatic and impactful), and Radcliffe was 15 years old at the time of filming.

I've watched your YT reactions to these two or three times and now I'm making my way through the full length ones. You're among my favorite HP reactors I've ever watched, and I've watched most of them. I love how strongly you empathize. I'm the same way, I have an extremely strong empathetic response and can be brought to tears quite easily as well. I especially love how conscious you are of all that Harry suffers and the immense weight he carries. I feel like a lot of reactors don't truly take it all in. I'm also a Harry/Luna shipper, especially in the movies. They have waayyyy better chemistry than Harry and Ginny do. Reading the books when I was young a always wanted Harry and Hermoine to end up together, though I do love their brother/sister type relationship. I'm not and have never been a fan of Ron/Hermoine, I just think Hermoines rampant excellence will chip away at Ron's self esteem over time and he'll lash out due to his Inherent feelings of inadequacy. I never see any true evidence that he conquers his demons by the end of the series, and yeah, I just think they'd have a miserable marriage. They're opposites, and I think that in their case it's not one of those "opposites attract" scenarios. I see their differences causing resentment to fester between them. I'll stop rambling. That's all just my personal opinion. I do believe Rowling has admitted that she paired Ron and Hermoine to subvert expectations and later regretted it, though. I have a whole list of issues with Harry/Ginny as well, but yeah... I'm still rambling and I said I'd stop.

The crazy thing is that Umbridge is only about half as bad in the movies as in the books. I had never before wanted to punch someone through a book. It is a huge accomplishment for the actress to have portrayed Umbridge as so incredibly hateable

The Luna-Phoebe comparison is so on point, never thought about it!
