It really is such a beautiful movie. I'm glad that you were able to recover the reaction footage!

So glad you recovered the footage for this reaction. Thank you for understanding and having empathy for Jenny. A lot of reactors miss the mark on her and write her off for her treatment of Forrest. Really enjoyed this reaction!

One of Tom Hanks' most iconic movies with a great soundtrack to boot. It's hard not to fall in love with this one. It's interesting that the theme of birds, sparked by young Jenny's prayer, comes up several times in the film. The part where she climes onto that ledge and almost falls has "Freebird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd playing in the background. It's easy to criticize Jenny for the way she treated Forrest, but she had a tough life. Robin Wright, who plays Jenny, also played Buttercup in The Princess Bride. Also, this is going a ways back for your channel, but Sam Anderson, who played the principal at the beginning of the movie, also played Holland Manners in Angel. Lilah and Lindsay's boss who died in the wine cellar.

Thank you so much for working so hard to recover the footage. 🎉😊 I really appreciate it, you're the best! 😊

Eli

My favorite movie. And your reaction did it real justice. Thanks for the hard work you put into it!

I'm so glad you were able to recover this! I always appreciate your insights on the films and TV you react to. There are a lot of people who dislike or criticize Jenny, and I'm always glad to see someone react who understands her; how she's self-destructive and running away from Forrest is another self-destructive act. All three of the major characters in the film (Forrest, Lt. Dan, and Jenny) had challenges to overcome, but Jenny's wounds were all internal, and so people tend to miss what she achieved. They often don't forgive her for running away - but when you think of that tiny little girl and consider what happened to her, it's gut-wrenching - she only ever wanted to get away. All she ever knew how to do was run, and that's why she told Forrest to do the same.

That's one of the tests of a reactor who gets it, IMO. Understanding that she is broken, and when she says, "You don't know what love is," it's because she, herself, doesn't. (The other test is at the end when he asks if Little Forest is smart. If your heart doesn't break... OMG)

Man, this movie will forever have me in tears. Fantastic reaction Sofie, I'm so pleased you managed to get this one up after all the trouble you had with it. 💜

Ricardo B,

First watched it when I was young, and I didn't understand Jenny's character. But on later viewings, she is the most tragic element. It's almost like Forest has floated like the feather, but Jenny has been dragged down most of her life by her past, coerced by her traumas towards those damaging paths. A catastrophe that Lt.Dan avoids because of his contact with Forest. Just a beautiful movie. And lovely reaction as always.

great reaction as always sofie 🫶 looking toward to the next one

I think the Principle is the actor for Holland Manners of Wolfram Hart in Angel

I knew you would have empathy for Jenny. It's usually a gamble with reactors, and I've lost respect for reactors I had previously liked because of how harsh and unforgiving they were to her character. But I wasn't worried about it with you. You're always full of empathy ❤️ Great reaction, as always!

Kenzie

Same. I see a theme of Justice for Jenny in these comments, and I'm not surprised to see it in Sofie's community.

Little Big Man

Dosboy

Whenever Forest says "that's all I have to say about that", he was talking about someone dying. He said that when the mic got plugged back in so he must have been talking about people dying in Vietnam.

Dosboy

Not many people realize it but Forest just helped John Lennon write the classic mega hit "Imagine" when he was on the Tv show.

"I don't think this is a good guy" Well you have to understand Billy. He was having a good time and suddenly someone open his car door and start to beat him. Plus he probably though it was a jaelous boyfriend. I'd be pretty livid if i was having a time with a girl and suddenly learn that "actually she's in couple and 'forgot' to tell you"
