Jocelyn

so excited!! love your reactions!

Jocelyn

i will still not understand how monica didn’t know that was richard’s son 😭

Sanya Arif

Yeah no. Joey had a total over reaction with the I’m going to my folks home and somewhere else. Kathy wasn’t his gf and he had no problem with cheating but mad at Chandler is fine but that was totally overreacting

Nelson Antony

It’s great to see how much you are invested in each character..especially chandler

juliet

It's not about Kathy. It's about the betrayal and dishonesty from a best friend. If Joey had been mad at Kathy, it would be hypocritical of him, but he wasn't. He said himself, if Chandler had came to him first, he would have been fine with it.

juliet

Love your reactions 💜

Sanya Arif

You don’t act like this unless you are serious about a girl. First he has this overreaction and then compares his two timing self to Ross and Rachel. It’s fine to get upset but This much? No. But then we won’t have the last moments of the episode so I know we needed to create some drama but it was just for the sake of it

"The line is a dot to you" is one of my favorite FRIENDS quotes. I can't even remotely get behind the Chandler/Kathy pairing because I can only see it from the best friends side. Going to her at the coffee shop while he's actively trying to beg for Joey's forgiveness was a wild thing to do. I also cannot like Kathy because she was very deliberately egging Chandler on while actively dating Joey. I want Chandler to be happy but this pairing in general still leaves a gross taste in my mouth because of how it came to be, even if they put a perfect sitcom bow on it at the end of that episode. I don't think the "but Joey was dating other women too and they weren't exclusive" justification some fans use tracks at all. Your buddy being in an imperfect relationship is not a green light, neither is whether or not it's a monogamous relationship. If you're in on open relationship, close friends and family members stay off limit unless you have a very specific agreement. The only thing I got out of that entire arc is how big Joey's heart is. Couldn't be me lol. I'd cut people off from being considered a good friend for half of this. And Joey and Chandler are one of my favorite fictional friendships, so it's shittier. Love any time Phoebe and Ross get stories together. One of the most underrated comedic duos IMO. The delusion that they both often live in makes two characters who are supposed to be exact opposites eerily the same sometimes.

Sanya Arif

FOrget about years of supporting Joey without asking for anything often in return. What a terrible friend for kissing someone you are not serious about

Kevin Karst

Wow, I had no idea most people were actually on Joey's side in this episode. It always seemed very clear to me that Joey didn't care about Kathy at all, he even literally said "we're not exclusive", so I don't understand at all how Chandler supposedly "betrayed" Joey. If Joey had strong feelings for Kathy, it would of course be very different. But she was just one of his countless conquests, he wasn't serious about her, so I don't understand why he was being such a drama queen about the whole thing. Just my opinion though, I know I'm in the minority here.

silverarrow06

I think she didn't recognize Richards son because she could only look with one eye and didn't see him since before he went to college, what was probably ten or more years ago...🤔

Edo

Came here to reply and see the comments thinking everyone will say how sweet it is that you get emotionally invested and cry at even sitcoms because you just feel for the character relationships. thats so sweet and makes me look forward to the future eps! Instead i see people arguing over joey vs chandler lol. Jeez.

Nina

I'm with Rachel. People gave me terrible gifts before or stuff that I didn't like. I just don't want stuff lying around that I don't like or for example clothes that I don't like, so I'm not going to wear them anyway... But I do keep stuff that is sentimental to me.

Monika

Because Joey didn't have strong feelings for Kathy, he told her he wasn't mad at her, only at Chandler. And the reason he was mad at Chandler wasn't Kathy, it was the principle. If Chandler had been honest with him, Joey would have understood (and probably stepped aside, because it wasn't about Kathy). But going behind his back part is something he didn't understand and needed time to forgive. For Joey it shows that Chandler doesn't care about him as much as the other way around, or at least that's how he thought before Chandler got in the box.

Jocelyn

possibly! i always thought it was funny that he was never mentioned when they were dating but his daughter, michelle was haha

Kelsey

The Chandler/Joey/Kathy storyline is interesting and one of my favorites. Seeing Chandler click with and care about someone this much is really sweet, but the fact that she’s a girl Joey is dating is so tough. It’s heartbreaking on both ends, b/c they are such good friends. 😭 The resolution at the end of it all is touching. Although everything is wrapped in humor, Friends will have a few moments that will make you cry.

Jocelyn

i’ve never been in a relationship but i did love how rachel kept the sentimental stuff from their relationship. however throwback to the t-shirt ep. where she gave everything back to him…should you still keep stuff from your relationship? i mean technically you do you but she’s the one who gave him all his stuff back but kept things from their relationship.

Fra Neu

Great to see how much you are in to Friends 👍 . It's even harder to see you cry than to watch the trouble between Joey and Chandler.

Bora Usta

Joey and Chandler's friendship is the best friendship in TV history

v

I LOOOVEEEE your reactions SO much Sofie! i love that you put your heart into it and gets emotional, happy, sad, angry and etc. happy to be with you in your friends journey, it sure has a lot to come yet.

Rebecca B1

I really don't feel bad for joey, he treats women like his toy and do whatever he wants but when someone cheats on him he gets mad ? you get what you deserve sorry.

Rebecca B1

Thank you !! Joey is an hypocrite here, his reaction makes no sense and he should not be this harsh with chandler when he cheats everyday and don't care about anyone feelings

Rebecca B1

Joey cheated on Cathy on the very same episode and say to chandler that they are not exclusive ? and then has the audacity to get mad at chandler and be a drama queen ? he is an hypocrite i don't understand why everybody is on his side.

Randy Giles

I love Joey and can understand why he was upset, but it's hard to feel bad for him when he treated Kathy so poorly. He was actively trying to sleep with other women while with Kathy. and didn't even want to get her a birthday gift.

Nanners

Love the Thanksgiving episodes! Another great reaction from you as always. Glad you’re enjoying season 4!

Raquel

I loved your reaction! And you're certainly not the only one who shed a tear or two. I've watched the series countless times (it's my comfort show), and even knowing what's going to happen, I still laugh and cry every time, not exactly like the first time, but thanks to your reactions, a little closer (thanks for that). That's the magic of Friends. There's still a long way to go (thankfully), and as someone already mentioned, it will mostly be laughs, but definitely there will BE MORE emotional moments. Any tissues handy, just in case? 😉

Syed Hasnain

My opinion on all of that was "I don't think the 'but Joey was dating other women too and they weren't exclusive' justification some fans use tracks at all. Your buddy being in an imperfect relationship is not a green light, neither is whether or not it's a monogamous relationship. If you're in an open relationship, close friends and family members stay off limit unless you have a very specific agreement." It's about the trust between Joey and Chandler, which I get because it's the biggest thing that once broken I cannot be close to someone. I just have a completely different definition of how best friends are meant to behave than people who think Joey is being overly dramatic, and that's okay.

gigi

i don’t know if youve seen the office sofie. but i’d love to watch you go on the jim x pam journey one day if you haven’t! love the reaction as always 🫶❤️

v

oh my god she would love the office lol

Belthazor82

The Office would be such a good show for her.

Ashley

I'm genuinely surprised by the comments saying Joey was in the wrong and overreacting here. For one thing he was not cheating on Kathy, they weren't exclusive. But they were still seeing each other and it's a betrayal to your friendship with someone to kiss a person they're dating behind their back. It's not about the person they're seeing, it's about making a choice that devalues the importance of your friend and the bond you share. Which is why Joey forgives Chandler once it's clear how much he does matter to him. Seeing that Chandler and Kathy had a genuine bond and that he was willing to give that up was enough to restore the broken trust in the importance of their friendship to Chandler. The reason he couldn't simply "get over it" from the start is because their relationship wouldn't have been the same while he believed he wasn't as important to Chandler as Chandler was to him. Neither of them would have been happy with that. Insisting Chandler genuinely rid him of those doubts instead of sweeping it under the rug was the only way to truly heal their friendship.

Sanya Arif

No, that is applicable only when you are serious about a girl, if you are not, you should not react this much to your friend kissing her.

Sanya Arif

over a girl he didnt care enough about IS an overreaction. It is understandable to be upset but so much he doesnt wanna live with him anymore IS OVERREACTING

Ashley

It isn't about her. It's about learning your friend is willing to risk ruining your friendship and hurt you. It's natural to doubt how much someone values you and to be hurt by that when they've done something that could obviously taint the bond you have. The strength of his reaction and emotion isn't indicative of him being dramatic but of how much he loves Chandler and values their relationship. Being around him after that was clearly painful for him so he briefly considered leaving. Ultimately he was upset with Chandler for a few days and forgave him the moment it was clear to him that his friendship was just as important to Chandler as it was to him.

Jaylen Greene

I think the issue here was that it wasn't so much what he did as it was how he went about getting it. This incident cast a seed of doubt that maybe whenever Chandler wants something, he'll take advantage of Joey's trust to get it. That wasn't the case, but Joey doesn't know that. Also, bringing her to the coffee shop right after was just dangling what he did in Joey's face.

Monika

Joey has often had doubts about whether Chandler cares about him as much as he cares for Chandler. Like with the best buds bracelet he gifted him. Joey wasn't upset because he was that serious about the bracelet, or because it was so expensive. It was because Chandler used the bracelet to mock him behind his back. Overall, Chandler doesn't show his feelings as unapologetically as Joey does, which sometimes leads to Joey doubting that their friendship is important. Until he got in the box.

Kevin Karst

This is a really interesting debate. I'm still a bit more on Chandler's side, but I do understand Joey's feelings better now, so thanks for all the interesting inputs. 😊

Sanya Arif

I dont agree with it. Clearly we all have our own opinions regarding this and it looks like one side will NOT be swayed to the other. Godspeed.

Rebecca B1

How did chandler take advantage of joey's trust here ? the kiss happened while joey was on a date with somebody else mind you ... If he had not treated Cathy so poorly maybe Chandler would have taken their relationship more seriously. But clearly both of them could see he did not really care about her and was just playing.

Rey

@Sanya Arif - It wasn't over a girl. It was about Chandler betraying him, even if they weren't exclusive.

Veljko

Don't worry about Chandler missing out on the dinner - he doesn't eat Thanksgiving food anyway, remember? So, he's not missing out on much

SidekickSteph

Hi Sofie, I’m new here but long time YT subscriber. I came for the season 4 finale, and season 5!
