3 hours oh jesus help me

The Rog

YEEEEEEESSSSSS!!! FINALLY!! 😆 Sorry, feels like forever & my finger was getting tired of hitting refresh! 😅 Let's do this! I hope everyone enjoys this. 😀

I R

I never clicked so fast in my life haha. I'm sooo excited to watch this!

gigi

YAY!!!!! so excited!!!!

Nessa

3 hours, omg! I can't wait to watch this later, thank you Sofie!

Nanners

Excited to watch this after work. One of my all time favorite movies. I’ve always been obsessed with all things Titanic. I saw this in theaters with my friends and then begged my mom to buy it when it was released. That was back when it came as two VHS tapes lol 😜 Such a well made movie about a devastating tragedy that should’ve never happened. There are some good videos of BTS that show how they brought the sinking to life. If I remember correctly, in the scenes where people were falling and sliding down the deck as the Titanic tilted and became more vertical, the items they hit were made out of rubber so that it didn’t hurt.

Alile

I’m honestly SHOCKED that this is “only” 3 hours and 22 minutes long. 😂 Can’t wait to watch it tonight! Thanks for all your hard work! I hope you enjoyed the film (though probably not the editing process 🤪).

gigi

Sofie did you recognize KING THEODEN!?

SoFieReacts

It was actually longer, I rewinded quit a bit. But I had to edit those parts out so to not annoy some people. My software almost crashed because of how big the file was 😂.

Alile

I assumed you probably edited out some stuff like that, but I was still impressed that you got it down to less than 4 hours. And please don’t worry about annoying anyone. I think I speak for most people when I say that we’re all here because we love your reaction style. Some reactors never pause or rewind, and that’s fine, I enjoy those reactors too. But I have never been annoyed by you rewinding something, even if it’s the same scene 3 times over. If that’s how long it takes for you to analyze something, it’s fine. I love watching you give consideration to things and come to realizations that may have taken other people several full watches of a show or movie to come to. That’s the thing with reactions where the reactors never pause or rewind, even when something confuses them or happened too quickly for them to properly process. They just ask the viewers a bunch of questions (over the top of whatever is still happening on screen), and then let it go. Maybe they’ll go back and watch it again later, but we’ll never see that, so we’ll never see their reaction when what was said or what happens really hits them. We get to do that with you because you take the time to really understand and process what’s happening as you’re watching. 💜

Nina

she did. The first time we see him in the movie.

Elisabeth Hutchinson

Had a great time watching and crying right along with you, Sofie. Thank you for another great reaction! See you next time.

Nina

I've watched this more than 10 times in the theatre. I was 8 when it came out, and I remember one time I went with my mum and my grandmother. And all three of us were in love with Leo. That never happened again - the fact that 3 generations all fell in love with the same guy. 😂 But how can you not fall in love with with Leo in the role of Jack. I'm 35 now and everytime I watch this movie I fall in love with Leo all over again.

Nina

This movie has marvellous editing...Everytime I watch this movie I admire it. Especially when Titanic hits the iceberg. I'm on the edge of my seat for those 5 minutes every single time, even though I know what happens. James Cameron did the editing himself and rightfully won the oscar for it. It's one of the best parts of this movie. And also the directing - the coordination of so many people on set, it's crazy. It's still one of the ebst directed films I have seen. Of course it won 11 oscars and it deserved it in every category. The sound and sound editing - jesus! it's so good. And James Horner did such a brilliant job with the score. Celine Dion sang My heart will go on, but Horner was the one who has written it. And not just that - the entire score is absolutely phenomenal. I listen to it quite often.

Santiago

I Actually cry.ever. Single. Time. No matter. What. 😭😭😭 ugh

gigi

omg i missed it!

Nina

Many people think the ending scene was a dream sequence. But Rose actually died at the end, an old lady in her bed. And the last scene is her joining all the others who died that night in the afterlife. You can see the clock in the background at 2.20 am. And Jack was waiting for her by the clock for 84 years. 💝😭 This movie always makes me weep. I can hardly stop crying.

Terry Mitchell

Great watch, I cried for hours the first time I saw it... Jack really reminded me of my first best friend/Partner Matt so the ending killed me but I have seen it maybe 200 times now, a favorite for sure :)

Ricardo B,

Always enjoy your reactions, but this one was particularly good. Hadn't watched in over 20 years, and had forgotten just how good it is. Watched it in the theaters back in 1998, almost 8 months after it had been released. Two rooms in the mall playing titanic, and filled. Almost a year after release. That was the power of this film. And the oscars entrance with billy crystal on the bow of the titanic and the medley of his was also great that year.

Nina

As much as I love the Matrix...now I'm a bit sad that Inception didn't win. It would have been cool to see you react to two DiCaprio movies in a row that couldn't be more different. Next time hopefully ❤

The Rog

Amazing reaction as always Sofie, thank you. I love history as well, including Titanic history so it was nice to hear that you knew your facts. Anytime I watch your reactions, it's like watching a mirror! We say the exact comments sometimes & laugh & cry in the exact scenes on so many of your past reactions & this one that it's almost scary lol. I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say, thank you Sofie, from the bottom of our hearts! Thank you for sharing part of who you are & for being you & for what you do, truly, thank you. I'll shut up now lol. 🙃

Alile

I cried right along with you at the end. It really is a beautiful love story woven in with an absolutely horrific tragedy. And like you, I still cannot wrap my head around how they filmed this and made it look so real, especially since it was almost 30 years ago now. As you said, it’s not a movie, it’s art. So many details and truths given their moment and respect. The only negative is what happened with Will Murdoch. I wish they hadn’t included that or had used another character who wasn’t based on a real person. I don’t know if James Cameron heard a story about Will and believed it to be true even though it wasn’t, or just wrote it in anyway, which seems odd when he tried so hard to make the rest of the movie historically accurate. Anyway, wonderful reaction, as always. 💜

Great movie, although from what I hear it really plays up the class strife, which didn't happen in the same way that's shown in the movie. For example, I've read the whole locking in 3rd class in the bottom of the ship didn't happen like in the movie. Additionally, the demographics of survivors were not primarily based on class, but by gender. Lower class women (and children) had a higher rate of surviving than 1st class men for example (~49% 3rd class women vs ~30% 1st class men). Naturally they also make Bruce Ismay look less favorable. From various reports, he did not act like some coward sneaking in and stealing a spot from someone. He stayed on the ship and helped people into the life boats for quite some time. He reportedly got into the last life boat on his side of the ship as there was an empty spot and nobody in the immediate vicinity. The scene of him pressuring the captain to go faster than normal may have happened, but the only source is one woman who claimed to have overheard it. However, after the shipwreck, people wanted someone to blame, and he was an easy target. One of the big newspapers who went after him was run by a business rival of his who heavily disliked him to begin with. With regards to the number of lifeboats, from what I remember reading, Titanic actually had more than regulations required at the time interestingly enough.

Nicola Rush

The sketch of Rose was also drawn by James Cameron himself, along with all of Jack's other drawings. The old couple you see on the bed was also based on the real life couple Ida and Isidor Strauss, she was offered a lifeboat but she refused to leave her husband's side, so they went down and died together! 😥 This film has been my favourite film since I first went to see it at the cinema when it was first released in 1998, see it four times and has been the only film I've ever called a masterpiece!

Pyromaani

this was super fun rewatch for me too, been like 15 years since seen it last time :D

Chuck

This is probably my favorite reaction video from you. I appreciated the insight you provided throughout. I've watched a few reactions to this movie but this was the first time Iearned things from the reactor. Glad you were able to power through.

Clara Gros-Louis

Thank you for your deeply connected reaction to this, Sofie!

Ashley

Really enjoyed watching one of my favorite movies of all time with you. Your commentary about the history made it a unique experience. I was also really interested in the history as a kid but had forgotten so much of it and you mentioned things I'd never learned before. Strangely I was able to watch the movie without crying as a child but I can't now.

Stevetheiguana

Also, fun fact, the actor who played Mr. Guggenheim actually survived a shipwreck himself and reportedly said the filming was a bit traumatic bringing back similar memories.

shonnie

I 100% agree with you. This is why sofie is the BEST reactor

Miloš 🇷🇸

I’m exited to start this video, growing up they used to play this movie during Christmas time every year and my family and I never got tired of watching it :) fun fact one of these actors will guest star on Charmed, pumped to see your reaction to it!!

Miloš 🇷🇸

My parents went to see it and my mom was pregnant with me, I think it’s why I’m so obsessed with this movie and the song. 🤣

Miloš 🇷🇸

Watching it as a kid I thought it was a montage but now it all makes sense!

Miloš 🇷🇸

Some important political figures died at the titanic sinking. I’d look up the conspiracies on the titanic, some of them actually make sense.

SidekickSteph

This is a hard movie for me to watch too, such a sad tragedy. Then you add the love story onto it, it really is a hard but amazing watch. Your reaction was very special, I enjoyed it a lot. Seeing someone who knows so much about this even, who’s never seen the movie but is as smart and empathetic as you are, thank you so much for sharing this journey with us.

Enzo Reis

Thanks for the reaction! 🥰

darya

Its like having an evening of mental breakdown with a bestie xD At least we cried together, Sofie))) I watched it with my family on a video tape circa 1999, have been traumatized since then =___=

Dosboy

Sadly, the volume of the movie is very low and difficult to hear.

Teemu Laitinen

Since you are interested so much in the story Sofie I'd highly recommend also watching the A Night to Remember (1958). It tells the story a bit differently in that it has no fictional story in it and shows things that are not in this film. It's based on the book of the same name by Walter Lord. I watched it some time ago and thought that it was an excellent film about the incident especially considering the time it was made and much more modest budget than the Cameron film.

Emmanuel Paquette

If you havent seen the movie Revolutionary road which is the movie reunion of Leo and Kate which happens like 20 years after Titanic and its a marvelous movie. It digs very deep into very sad and deep subjects I find it a greater movie then Titanic.

SwissFemShep

"He exists now only in my memory" always gets me😢

AdrianF

no pause warnings, unwatchable slop. I want my 5 dollars back. And so does JC.

CalliopeRuiz

Oooh that makes sense, kid me didn't know what the F was going on
