Yay Sofie, thanks for the double drops this week! This season was action packed! Loved seeing your reactions to Baela and Rhaenyra's tense exchange, Rhaenyra's eye makeup n armor reveal, Aegon's I'm Alive!....basically a lot of moments lol. Some things i didn't realize until i rewatched hte finale is I'm looking forward to seeing Alyn vs Corlis (Alyn being validated by Rhaenyra in ep 8 w/o Corlis witnessing it and Corlis will obviously be against Rhaenyra's actions, seeing potentially Sunfyre and Vhaegar together fucking shit up, Ulf might be squaring off against Hugh since Ulf was the one that torched the town and having their dragons that get along maybe having to fight to the death (or will they?) and maybe seeing how Daemon might be shaken or changed post Tumbleton based on his face when Corlis grabbed him and how that might affect his view on Rhaenyra since she seems more resolute than ever, and I wonder how they'll show the townspeople going against her for killing the Septon. and lastly I wonder if Messiria (spelling) and Alicent will team up in some way since they both had somethign to say to Haelena before she died. I haven't read the book yet but I'll most likely read it before the next season ( i mean, i better find time. don't i have 2 years?). As a side note, as much as I liked this season compared to s2 overall, I feel so disappointed that Rhaenyra has gone full villain, maybe because I feel like her scenes paint her to be a bit over the top? i dunno. maybe its the speech she gave w/ her newfound look. I know the production specifically wnated it to feel like her darth vader reveal...but still. I was really rooting for Rhaenyra and I do like how theyre showing 'team black' aren't the 'good guys' by default. I like that they're showing team green n team black have characters you root for and how it shifts esp. this season...and as much as I like Aegon's arc and how entertaining he is, I feel disappointed when I think of young Rhaenyra in s1 and how cool and strong she was. Now I know how Dany fans felt in GoT after all that went down there. I was neutral w/ Dany since GoT had other characters you wanted to root for like the Starks so it was hard for me to just think of Dany as the default that I should be rooting for, but in HoTD they really portrayed Rhaenyra as the logical one you should be rooting for bc Team Green was portrayed so much worse plus Alicent misinterpreted the prophecy plus Otto was such a villain. I like how s3 took its time showing all the bullshit and betrayal and paranoia and manipulation Rhaenyra endured. Much more realistic in pacing and better executed than what GoT did for sure. At this point I'm rooting for Gwayne, Daeron and Corlis lol. They seem the most reasonable and level headed. Or Aegon just because he was entertaining as hell...him with his Lannister bro. Ugh Rhaenyra why did you have to go full Darth Vader? To quote Tyra banks "i was rooting for you, we were all rooting for you and how dare you!' Rip Halaena. She and Aegon, Ormund, Caraxes and Sheepstealer carried this season for me.

I will always stay loyal to team black. Because we should never forget, the greens started this. They wanted this war, now they have it. And the moment Rhaenyra finally retaliates, she is portrayed as the bad guy? I really don't care. Obviously the point is, that nobody wins in this conflict.

"I'M ALIIIVE!... imbecile." That one line made this whole so-so season worth it.

Season 2 overall was better but ended poorly. This season is the opposite😅

gak9319

Rhaenyra basically walked into the Vatican and ordered the murder of the Pope. Then declared her divine mandate comes from the dragons. Lucifer is often depicted as a dragon. Some heavy Christian symbolism.

I love how Helaena confronted both Alicent and Rhaenyra on their bullshit this season. RIP

S3>S2 for me

In terms of legitimacy there are arguments on both sides but the more I think on it Aegon has more. Ultimately this is mostly on Viserys, he may have ruled in peace but he left such a devastating conflict in his wake that he can hardly be called a good king

Namikaza

Yeah, Viserys made this big decision and then he just did absolutely nothing to secure it. That's one of the things I don't like about Rhaenyra. Why do you take Viserys as a good role model as king. He is the cause of all of this...

ID Stark

I'm not a hater of season 2, it had peak episodes. But I feel season 3 was better managed. it was better overall, the mid ones from season 3 were better than the mid ones from season 2. I still love the show.

Everyone was very pro Viserys in s2, I think because of the actor and the amazing performance he did. I guess looking back they saw it didn't make sense for the characters to praise him, considering the many crucial mistakes Viserys made. So they try to pivot it here, but they can't do it too suddenly.
