I'm not ready to rewatch this traumatic episode again. When Hayley died I felt like a lost my mom too. 😭😭😭😭😭🩶🩶🩶

Phoebe didn't want to leave. Actually Hayley's death was a Julie Plec decision. I won't talk about it more because this topic might give you spoliers.

Of course I was super upset when this first aired and I didn’t realize how much I actually loved Hayley’s character until her death here when we lost her. But I remember seeing an interview with Julie Plec explaining that they choose to go this route with Haley because of the story they were telling in regards to hate and prejudice in the world. And how sometimes consequences can affect communities because of hatred, people we love might be lost. Idk but it really gave the storyline more weight. And frankly it made sense for Haley’s character to go out like that.

And this the episode that caused the Elijah hatred for alotttt of people

I had so much hate towards Elijah after this episode. I was so furious at his stupidity. Regardless of memory loss he knows they're family and didn't even think to check out the story or ask questions before stopping Klaus from saving the mother of his child. Even no memories Daemon had more logic and emotions for Elena his family stefan and friends. Elijah actually makes me uncomfortable rewatching his scenes with Hayley, claiming he'd always protect her when really he literally prevented Klaus from saving her. This is why i always enjoyed Klaus and Hayley's scenes & relationships way more than hers with Elijah. Glad u saw and understood how flawed Elijahs new logic is. He didn't even question anything, not to Klaus or Roman once seeing hes fine & Hopes the one passed out on floor. The only persons life at risk in that house, was clearly Hayley.

I will never forgive Elijah😂😂😂😂

Hayley deserved so much better than this. It hurts so much! Honestly, it would've been a pretty interesting story to see her have to live as just a vampire after having her werewolf side bound, instead they just killed her. I hate it. I personally do not blame Elijah, he has no memories of her and was manipulated. Only person I blame is Greta. She's an awful, hateful person and I'm glad she's dead. I just wish Hayley didn't go with her...

It was really hard to care for Elijah after this

Victor

Elijah is a family man, the fierceness he protected his family (the mikaelsons) had no bound and not limit. He killed countless innocence to protect them and did so without regret. Because that’s who he is to his core. With his memories wiped he forgot that family and adopted Antoinette’s family. He has spent 7 years with her which to man that remembers nothing before those 7 years are his whole life. So that family was now the one he’s protect with the same ferocity that he once protected the mikaelsons, that includes the death of a mother and child. Only reason we see a huge difference now is the fact that it’s not the mikaelsons that he’s protecting. But I do hate that they made him play this part and Ik it’s not his fault because he doesn’t remember. End of the day he wiped his memory to protect hope and up till now he had done just that

Victor

So many people hate on Elijah for this and it’s so aggravating to read 😂 dude didn’t remember anything like wth?😂

Nebulous Shooter

You would think that people that have spent so much watching the show countless times would be able to pick up on this aspect about Elijah, but apparently not.

regardless of memory loss or not his idealism and personality became too stubborn and made no sense. he couldve at the very least payed attention to whats going on around him... hayley is about to die, roman is literally fine and holding hope who is passed out in chains....literally a little comprehension and scanning of the area for a few seconds wouldve and shouldve been enough for him to question what was going on. even damon when he was being controlled by sybil was a tiny bit smarter and thoughtful than elijah

Enzo Reis

Yeap. A lot of people during the episode premiere thought that Phoebe decided to leave but it was a Julie Plex decision. Phoebe also said that the director who shot the scene helped her made the scene more beautiful.
