There in the Disappearing Light

Klaus helps Hope cope with her pain in an unconventional way. A figure from Elijah's past comes back seeking help. Elsewhere, Marcel takes on the nightwalkers, while Vincent deals with the fallout of a fateful decision.

They didn’t power Marcel down. Witches>vampires. Only reason witches couldn’t do anything against lucien is because he had the ancestors on his side. Marcel doesn’t so he is just as weak to magic as Klaus and any other vampire.

It’s not as simple as that. If they were as strong as they were but weren’t immortal then yes they’d already be dead.

Exactly, the witches have been formidable against the originals and every one else. If you’ve seen the orginals always beat who they beat because they’re immortal. That’s what makes them so powerful. We’ve seen vampires stake them and wolves bite them. Those instances they should’ve died in but didn’t. Due to this they’ve been able to come back and “win”. Same with witches. If we look at the originals, the most powerful enemies they’ve made have been witches and immortal witches like Dahila, the hallow, and the ancestors have been the closest to defeating the originals above anyone. The originals just have plot armor 😂 had it not been for that they woulda lost to Dahila in my opinion. Either way why do you think marcel persecuted the witches for so long? Cause they were the only ones that would be able to over throw him had he not kept them without magic, and even then he had a super witch helping him. And also why klaus was so impressed when he came back because had it not been for davina marcel would have to be civil with the witches like klaus was forced to since not even him and Elijah where able to control the witches

If it makes you feel better they were planning on killing Josh off the first season he had appeared in, but thanks to the overwhelming positive feed back from the fan base they decided to keep him for as long as they did so if anything we got to see a more complex and great Josh than had the fans not cared for him😅 crazy no one commented on his death, I do dislike that davina didn’t get to say goodbye Ik marcel was very close to him but davina was like his sister and first friend he made while I’m New Orleans, RIP josh

Exactly. Why did klaus want davina so badly? If he could handle witches on his owns he wouldn’t need her. Immorality is the only reason Klaus and the rest of them aren’t dead already. Not cause they are actually stronger. When we even see a vampire in a fight against a witch they always win by a suprise attack of some sort or just sneak kill them before the fight even begins. A straight and head on fight against a decent witch always ends in a win for the witch.

Yes they did, he and the Originals are only as strong as the plot demands. If it was done realistically, no witch would be able to react to vamp superspeed, but in TVDverse somehow they can stop them while they speed towards them which is just dumb. And its so easy to avoid this, write that every witch has a protection spell cast on them that repels vampires, or slows them when they get close, instead we have to accept that Witches has the reaction speed and reflexes to see the vamp speeding and have the time to cast the spell, but again, only when the plot demands it, because this also isn't consistent... Power levels throughout the series are the biggest plot hole, arguing thats not true is insane to me. Damon taking Kol 1v1 from the front like twice and other silly writhing decisions plague all three series. A witch with preparation might be stronger, but in the way its portrayed in the show, 1v1 in front of each other, the witch should never have the reaction speed to even think about attacking the vampire.

Witches only react because they are ready for it. Which makes sense vampires always catch them of guard. It’s not for plot convince when the show consistently shows us that witches are superior to vampires. Immorality is the only reason the originals win.

In the same episode you have Josh attacked from behind by the same witch that took down super Original Marcel and he killed the witch. JOSH! :))) What more obvious proof than that do you need? The characters are as strong, or as weak as the plot demands of them, nothing is consistent and Marcel has been toyed with every single episode since becoming Super Original. He only ever wins when he goes up against Klaus and Elijah, for some reason.. Its the only instance when the writers give him the W. So going back to your original comment and Sofie's, Yes Marcel has been powered down. Period.

Marcel got anbushed by the witch after fighting off multiple vampires. And the witch took him down very quick. Josh came in and found Marcel strapped up and was on alert and before the witch could get him he took the witch by suprise because the witch didn’t think josh had noticed him. The situation weren’t even remotely the same. Also name me all those fights Marcel has lost since becoming a super vampire? Context matters. Hasn’t lost a single fight unless it was against a witch. Didn’t lose against another vampire or werewolf. So those enemies u’re talking about he is consistently losing against bar klaus are non existent. U probably just want Marcel to win these fights more effortlessly like lucien did when we know he isn’t even close to as strong as he was.
