Honestly one of my favourite things about your reactions and something that sets you apart from others is how you pause and playback moments in shows and discuss them without talking over the action. If you go to watch along format you won’t be able to pause anymore which I feel would spoil the experience.

The copyright wont be any different with reduced opacity and audio they can still get your media flagged and taken down... but the shows you're watching you really have no need to worry about copyright. Keep it 100% opacity or sync. I dont get this reduced view? 🤷🏼‍♀️ When you pay $10 a month for something you cant see and cant sync to because of pausing (which I love BTW dont get me wrong) it kinda sucks.

Yh definitely need to keep it with some visibility and good audio always playing. Especially since u pause episodes alot and unexpectedly that i had to keep getting both in sync a few times, while watch Stranger things reaction & ep. Or put up 5 second timer for all upcoming pauses please Sofie x

I totally agree! My only suggestion would be to move items that might be visible from “behind” the area where you place the show. Or add something with a uniform color just in that spot that won’t take away from your set up. Love the new shows!

this!!! i always find it exhausting when people reduce their reactions to the point where i have to find my own copy to sync up, but with you i especially wanna be able to watch along with your experience cause you pause when you need to (which i loveee and i do not mind at all!), and it would be so difficult to keep track otherwise. i do not mind reducing the optics like you did for example with breaking bad, it's still clear enough to follow

Not really though...She can do a "Pausing in 3,2,1" format. I have reactors that have the timer and then let us know when theyre about to pause.

I always half watch/ mostly listen while I’m getting ready in the morning so if I don’t have to involve another device to watch that would be great haha

if/when you do have to have no audio or video,will there be some sort of timer to show what up to in minutes of the episode including when pause and in general when watching-I think maybe that would be really helpful. I wouldnt mind using my own copy and audio as long as can follow along. Even if you just said when pausing and when to press play again, I think some other people mentioned that may be helpful. I do love the pausing though,just want to be able to follow along as well.

I struggled with GOT reactions to the point I wasn’t really enjoying it anymore and didn’t finish entire show. Plus if you don’t have your copy on streaming that you already subscribed to, you have to pay again for the service that has it. Just sometimes not worth it. I’m a little confused though, does patreon also strikes? Coz all the other reactors I watch never do any of that for their patreon, only for you tube copies.

Sometimes if you're a big reactor an asshole will subscibe just to strike you and get your videos taken down, (It's rare but HBO has been known to do this) The shows that sofie is reacting to she really doesnt need to worry about it. Some reactors just blur and sync for everything just to say F it and not worry about anything lol (Ive never encountered this opacity thing on patreon until now though)

Also separate thought. I think the copyright claims will more likely be a problem with the newer shows but 90s/00s shows like Charmed and Dollhouse might be fine in original full video format?

And also if you don't mind if youre going to use the less visibility option,could you maybe say when you pause and when to press play again. I really love when you pause and wouldnt mind if you paused a whole lot but just would make it easier to follow along with own copy. Just an idea because noticed its harder to see than thought would be with the 35 reduction. I think that may be helpful for a lot of people. Thank you.

The Normies do it on their Patreon. They keep the visual pretty blurred but leave the audio as is. Someone who's seen a show a few times shouldn’t have much trouble keeping up. I think Breaking Bad gave a couple of reactors a hard time with Copyright but that's been a while ago so idk if that's still the case.

you pause and go back a lot so it keeping my own copy in sync would be difficult. distorted video is fine imo.

I don't have much experience with editing but would smth like that take up much time editing-wise? Idk if Sofie has an editor, I think she does it all by herself so I don't want to haul more work editing-wise on her if that takes up more time lol

Opacity but probably higher number greater than 50% so that we can still see it. Fans have seen the show anyway so I wouldn’t think some opacity would bother them but I guess it does

I would think if she just changed the speed, then we'd have to watch at a lower rate would work... PLUS stay away from shows that just ended or are still on going! Also a virtual assistance like from the Philippines could help with any editing and keep her cost down.

I feel like with lucifer you should be able to react to it how you been reacting to everything else. I seen reactors react to it on dropbox, onehub, google docs, mega, etc. Now, for the new shows I would recommend using streamable or mega. I know married2thereal used streamable and they react to a lot of hbo shows.

Option 1 - (IANAL) I don't think this would satisfy a copyright lawyer. Blurred would be better but it's the audio also that's an issue... especially with songs and stuff, so maybe those would have to be muted/distorted at some points. Option 2 would work but it makes keeping in-sync with you more difficult when you pause/rewind stuff. Blurred videos would help with that, as would some visual indicators that you're about to pause. Option 3 - ah yes, let's throw in some illegal distribution of copyrighted material - I'm sure that will go down well with the soulless copyright lawyers ;). Seriously, don't share stuff. If people want to get free copies: they can do so on their own and it's their business only.

A few years ago there used to be an app that was basically acting like a discord watch party, where reactors and viewers could join and the only one interacting with the video player was the reactor. If the reactor paused, it would pause for everyone. Forgot the name of the app, but since i haven't seen it around maybe there were legal issues eventually. And there was also the problem that it had to be done live and not recorded. On PC I can sync it well enough, with some effort, but on mobile its not worth the hassle. There isn't really a good solution that will satisfy everyone I'm afraid, but I absolutely do not want you to stop pausing and analyzing the shows, the initial reaction to a moment is cool, but the analysis, theories, suppositions as the scenes unfold is what really makes me enjoy reaction content.

Option 4 - Reduced opacity "visibility" WITHOUT audio playing. That would be my choice and that's how most creators seem to do it. Like Alexis in the comments said, having no visuals makes it very hard to sync, but even if the screen is blurred or obscured in some way, it's fairly easy to sync using scene transitions. And it doesn't really matter if it's not synced absolutely perfectly to the tee. That said, I prefer using my own audio because it's obviously cleaner than using your recording, so it just sounds better in my opinion, and everyone can also freely adjust the volume of your voice in relation to the audio of the show or movie which people might have different preferences for. I tried syncing up videos perfectly before so that I have the audio from both but that's a disaster, it's nearly impossible to sync it from both so I prefer it if it's just silent from your end and I just use the original audio from my copy.

The reduced visibility is still enough for me to tell what's going on. It's definitely not ideal, but I don't feel the need to sync my own copy, so it works for me anyway.

Yes, I'm a huge fan of reactors who pause/rewind - it's far better than trying to convey their thoughts quickly (and possibly missing something in the next scene) or waiting until the end of the episode (and possibly forgetting what they wanted to talk about). Regarding watch-along formats, I like no audio and a blurred picture throughout, so I can easily re-sync if I need to pause both streams, and I don't need to get the audio perfectly aligned. Everyone watching a full-length reaction should have their own copy of the show anyway, so there's no need for the audio.

the hard part is having to re-sync whenever you pause. the reduced opacity is sometimes okay, but like in stranger things, when there's a lot of darkness, that is harder to see.

Syncs here on Patreon are a bad, bad idea for anyone, I've tried it, it's only fine as long as the Viewer and the Reactor have the same version, or one is physical media, the other streamed, which can cause issues constantly. Also as far as films go, there are slightly different versions in the US and UK just one example. I'm also confused as hell to why Patreon allows sync up views but Youtube doesn't. I mean, if we can't see most of whatever's being watched, how could there possibly be a copyright problem or anything like that? We're in the hands of hypocrites people :P Lol <3
