Happy New Year 2026 / New Album Update (Patreon)

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2026 / NEW ALBUM UPDATE

2025 was a challenging year after the successful 2024, with the release of TIME II! Still, a lot of progress was made.

The new album is about 85-90% complete. The percentage has increased only slightly since the last 80% update because I've added 15 more minutes of music to the album. The album will be over 1 hour, making it the longest Wintersun album to date. I've also been working on some extra materials for the next big PACKAGE. 😉 You will definitely be blown away once these materials are revealed!

The album intro is complete and sounds fantastic! I've invested a lot in improving the orchestrations, and it has paid off. Everything sounds better and is better arranged. Almost all the orchestrations are done, except for the finales of two songs. Vocal recordings are nearly complete. Only a few clean singing parts, some brutal high screams, and some backing vocals remain.

The next challenge I'm starting next week is to capture my real analog guitar amps in a digital format. I think this album needs the good old Mesa Boogie Triaxis tight sound, and the plugins still haven't beaten the real thing yet, so I need to capture it before it breaks down.

I've made some big breakthroughs recently with mixing and mastering, and this album already sounds better than anything I've done before. The mix/master is pretty much already there, just some fine-tuning needed.

So everything is chugging along nicely. If you want to support the album-making process, check out our Patreon! There are some cool new album-making-of clips. They don't reveal too much yet, so you won't spoil the first listening experience.

And thank you for all the support you've shown us in 2025, whether it's buying our merch, joining Patreon, buying our music either digitally from Bandcamp or on CD/vinyl, or just sending us supportive and lovely messages!

On behalf of Wintersun, we wish you all a wonderful new year in 2026! 🎉 - Jari
