In this episode Asim shows Jari one of his favourite picking technique. It's a mix between alternate and economy picking, which we all need to practise more, right? :) It also shows the exotic scale that Marty Friedman is especially know for and is in fact one of Jari's favourite scales. Hope you enjoy the video!

* Sorry I messed up the camera focus a little bit, so the video isn't as sharp as the previous one, but you'll still get the point, I hope. Also the camera had 30 minute recording limit which we went over, so there's a little cut at the end, but I think everything what needed to be said about the technique was said at that point. :) - Jari

For those who want to look more into this exotic scale sound: it's called Hirajoshi (in the video example C Hirajoshi) and it's one of the Japanese Pentatonic scales. -Teemu

Thanks for this exercise and challenge guys! Just practiced this for a while and after repeating the pattern over and over, I preferred using my middle (2nd) finger to travel back down to the 12th fret B-string and 9th fret D-string. For whatever reason that felt more natural to me. Loved the random shred at the end too 😂 Reminded me of walking into an arcade and hearing all the different sounds at once 🤡

I think an interesting one you could do would be non sweep picked arpeggios. Enjoyed the video!
