As requested guys, I made a little reamping comparison for you of my four favourite Synergy preamp modules (for rhythm guitar). IICP, Bogner Überschall, ENGL Powerball and Soldano SLO. Different flavours for different tastes and purposes. Let me know what was your favourite?

IICP and Überschall are the top ones for me, ENGL coming really close 3rd. IICP seems to be the clearest and the most surgical sounding to my ear, but there is something about Überschall's attack that makes it cut throught the mix a bit more. You can notice it particularly in the part with orchestations.

This is too good! Can't even say anything at the moment.

Right on, Jari. It is cool hearing & seeing where things happen.

If I need to put in order 1 IICP 2 SLO 3 ENGL 4 Überschall But I am not expert is only my opinion 🤔.

Giannis Darzentas

Don't know if it's only me but Überschall sounds so much different than the other ones. Might need to check my hearing at some point XD

having the IICP and the ENGL seperated by the Überschall in the order they were in made it hard for me to judge which I prefered over the IICP and ENGL, whenever I hear anything using Mesa boogie I instantly love the sound but when I had a helix pedal or used any amp emulation software I seemed to prefer the sound I could get out of the patches that emulated ENGL amps, almost like it had a touch of bass for that heavyness for open powerchords where as the IICP has more attack and sounds better with the riffs and lead, can't make my mind up

IICP is kind of the "reference sound" since Time was recorded with a Mark V with the MK IIC+ preamp, so it fits the "best" in the mix IMO, SLO sounds great on it's own but not so good in the mix. The Bogner sounds too fizzy in the mix, but the ENGL also cuts really good like the IICP. A combination with the IICP, the "good parts" of the SLO, and the ENGL would be interesting, altho some phase issues might occur (or maybe not). Very awesome video Jari as always!! P.S: I wonder how the Synergy system might handle the stage situation (Mr. Vai has his live rig like this).

That sounded insanelly good, it would be cool to get some series of you teaching us a little production haha.

IICP and ENGL were my favourites. The Bogner was a bit tin canny but that could be due to the eq being set to something else. Also, I would be really interested in seeing some of the vst's you use for orchestration and other instruments! Some sort of deep dive video going through your favourites etc.
