Stratovarius was one of the very first metal bands I got into and a huge early musical influence for me. Here's some of my favourite riffs written by Timo Tolkki.

Playing my Ibanez J-Custom RGA8420 (Axe Palace Limited Run) with DiMarzio Fusion Edge pickups. Soldano SLO100 amp and an old Mesa 4x12 cab w/Black Shadow speakers. Neural DSP Quad Cortex hooked to the amp with 4 cable method (boost and EQ in front of the amp, reverb and delay in the amp's loop).

Can you name the songs? (edit: song titles added to the video Nov. 4th 2023)

Could you share the titles? I want to learn a coupe of licks :D

Missing Eagleheart here! Granted though, the song's main thing is more of a lead rather than a riff :)

Hey Teemu, do you like Symphony X?

John Johnson

I cannot name the songs but recognized a couple. I paid close attention to your poster, arm position and your hands. I can see it takes strong conditioned back muscles and arm strength to support the skilled hands, sensor control and feedback of your muscles. This really helps me because as aging beginner I find my back strength weak and the need to practice some strength conditioning.
